Giving up my precious disgusting pigsty tarpit of dotfiles I’ve been configuring for ages but it seems worth it . I can’t wait to see a not-broken nvim config for the first time in 3 years

It's @OmarchyLinux time. My MBP 2017 running Omarchy in record time. Although, Mac had a screen problem I got it fixed then installed Omarchy. Absolutely loving it, few good things involve some cost. Ready to join the cult @dhh

Omarchy here, there, and everywhere! What I love about all this excitement is how broadly accessible it is. Even 15-year old laptops can run Omarchy. Super cheap mini PCs. Fantastic Frameworks. Everyone has access to the party 🥳

Having @Cloudflare sponsoring Omarchy with free CDN, R2, and DDoS shield has been such a relief. Love when companies just decide to do things like this without needing a specific return. 52TB in traffic in just the last 72 hours! blog.cloudflare.com/supporti…

Couldn't be happier to see @cmonkey get the recognition he deserves for his work on improving Omarchy with actual patches. This is such a bullish signal for a company. Makes me even prouder to run Framework computers 😍 piped.video/watch?v=FaMADv_G…

That was the goal! Not just easier, but way, way faster too. Linux has a learning curve, but it should be dedicated to becoming a pro with Neovim, tiling window management, and all the glorious tools. Not getting it installed or doing a baseline config.
installing arch is officially easier than Windows

Old windows gaming laptop repurposed into an Omarchy box , excited to play around with it more. It’s funny how quickly muscle memory becomes apparent - good & bad! Thanks @dhh and everyone working on Omarchy install was easy and it looks super slick .

So, @OmarchyLinux runs on a Tp X61 (~15 years old, with a Centrino 2-core CPU & just 2GB RAM*).😎 - visual appeal👌🌟 - configurability & control 🤓🧔 Thanks to advocacy by @dhh, TUIs might make a smashing comeback. Also, FDE via LUKS is default; neat! 🤓👍 *more would help!

The small-file performance is key to a lot of this. The Linux filesystem has just been optimized much better for this, and it's something so many dev workflows depend on.
Got curious how much faster Linux is than macOS for small-file access and creation. The results are shocking: curl -L cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/ker… -o linux.tar.xz time tar -xf linux.tar.xz Framework Desktop: 1.6s MBP M4 Pro: 12.2s Over 7x faster on these 90K files!! 🤯

I've been truly shocked by how good mini PCs have gotten, and how much faster than even the most expensive Apple gear they can be. Linux is incredibly quick and efficient at so many things devs do all the time.
I hate to say it, but @dhh is right. Bought a Beelink ($800) instead of M4 Pro Max ($5000). 96 fucking GB of Ram, 2TB of SSD. 2.5M lines of code builds in 61 seconds. and now I can't go back. Really great job to the @OmarchyLinux team.
