Pioneering STARKs since 2018 for blockchain scale, privacy, and post-quantum security.

1/ A powerful enough quantum computer could drain your wallet without stealing your seed phrase. The fix: migrate to post-quantum cryptography in time. We’re releasing a crypto-agility table and migration map, showing why some chains face a harder transition 🧵 quantum.starkware.co/network…

Okay, now that we have your attention on Starknet / ethereum:0xca14007eff0db1f8135f4c25b34de49ab0d42766 ... Let me quickly explain why I believe Starknet is the strongest bet on both privacy and quantum resistance. 1⃣ Privacy Starknet recently launched STRK20, a protocol-level privacy pool bringing state-of-the-art privacy infrastructure to Starknet. What makes it different? → Shield ANY asset inside the same privacy pool: STRK, ETH, BTC, ZEC, memecoins, stablecoins... anything. As of today, 41 different assets have already been shielded. → The lowest privacy fes on the market: ~$0.12 per private transaction → Best privacy UX: accessible directly from the wallet UI, in only a few seconds → Deep DeFi integrations In terms of DeFi integrations, we already have: → Private swaps on @avnu_fi & @EkuboProtocol → Private STRK and BTC staking on @endurfi → Private payroll with @DashXHQ → Private prediction market betting on top of Polymarket with @OffMarketcx Coming very soon: → Private lending & borrowing on @vesuxyz → Private yield generation on @trovesfi → Private LPing on @EkuboProtocol → Private options trading on @SuperVegaXYZ And as OffMarket demonstrates, if demand exists, this privacy infrastructure can also be plugged into use cases originating from other ecosystems and platforms: Hyperliquid, Lighter, Derive, etc. 2⃣ Quantum resistance Quantum computing will eventually break the cryptography securing most blockchains today. That means chains will need to upgrade parts (if not all) of their cryptographic architecture and migrate users toward post-quantum-secure accounts. For many ecosystems, that could mean: → Years of significant engineering work that could otherwise be spent on other critical protocol improvements. → Finding a migration path that doesn't break UX or place too much responsibility on users. On Starknet, a large part of the groundwork is already there. Completing the transition will require only months of engineering work rather than years: → STARK proofs, Starknet's ZK engine, are already considered quantum-resistant by design. → Native Account Abstraction makes it possible to migrate accounts from today's signature schemes to post-quantum-secure ones in a single tx for users. → Post-quantum-secure account implementations already exist, with PoCs from @OpenZeppelin and S2Morrow. → StarkWare recently published its roadmap for the remaining work: x.lingyaoai.com/StarkWareLtd/status/20… → StarkWare also hired Prof. Scott Aaronson, one of the world's leading experts in quantum computing, to help stress-test the roadmap and strengthen the work around quantum security. → Our team also designed a mecanism allowing Bitcoin to be quantum-secure today (QSB) If you want exposure to this Starknet privacy + quantum-resistance thesis, there are still relatively few liquid tokens to position in the trenches. I'll just list them. You know the drill: NFA, DYOR, I'm retarded, extremely risky. → ethereum:0xca14007eff0db1f8135f4c25b34de49ab0d42766, obviously. You can learn more about the thesis here: starknetthesis.io/strk → $EKUBO, the token of @EkuboProtocol, the most advanced AMM in the entire crypto ecosystem, deployed across Starknet and EVM chains, already offering private swaps and soon private LPing. → $DREAMS, the token of @daydreamsagents, building x402 + AI marketplace → $SLAY by @SlayOnStarknet, memecoin + Brother Eli NFTs → @StarknetBro, memecoin. → @schizodio, memecoin + NFTs 🏄‍♂️🏄‍♂️🏄‍♂️ starknetthesis.io/
1/ Starknet is a bet on post-quantum security. Today, we’re publishing the roadmap to make that bet real. The goal? An end-to-end post-quantum secure Starknet before Q-day 🧵

A lot of chains have shut down recently and will continue to do so. But not Starknet. I joined the Foundation almost 6 months ago, a few reasons but 'the strong tech thesis' was a big factor. My view is that crypto still has SO much left to build but so much of what we see in crypto today feels heavily stagnant from years ago where we were really pushing the frontier. Starknet is great tech, it is actually S-tier for founders/builders with big ideas because it actually expands what can be done onchain. Firstly, Starknet is built to compute. OpenVM’s Ethereum benchmark averages 5.4 seconds per block on eight RTX 5090s and 3.9 seconds on sixteen. Using the quoted rental prices of $4/hour and $8/hour, sustaining those average rates would mean 16,000 Ethereum block proofs a day for $96, or approximately 22,154 for $192. The Starknet benchmark: one block proved in one second on $2.68/hour hardware. Sustain that rate and that’s 86,400 Starknet block proofs a day for $64 in compute. Starknet computes a lot for cheap, so you can do more on Starknet. UX was BIS back in 22 and is still BIS today. Native AA, with passkeys, recovery, session keys and sponsored fees. Baked into the network. Focus Tree showed what that UX can look like: 1m+ users brought onchain through invisible wallets. Dapps that feel like apps. The account model also enables adaptive security. Accounts can be built or upgraded to support post-quantum signatures without all the hoo-ha of a protocol fork. Starknet will be quantum-ready in 2027. Most eyes on Starknet now are for privacy via STRK20, the privacy pool on Starknet. Some neg takes as its not 'secret' but confidential. The main point is privacy on STRK20 is both compatible + composable and builders love it. Expect far more to be built. Put these capabilities together and and the design space ceiling is to the limits of your idea, not the network and the bull case is what builders make possible with it. Also read @Lyskey’s thesis starknetthesis.io/ for a more tangible bull-mode: ethereum:0xca14007eff0db1f8135f4c25b34de49ab0d42766.

1/ A quantum upgrade could force you to leave your wallet address behind. Starknet’s upgradeable accounts can change signing schemes while keeping the same address and assets. Here’s the capability that puts Starknet alone at 8/8 in our crypto-agility assessment 🧵 quantum.starkware.co/network…

5/ 8/8 measures evidenced crypto-agility capabilities. Starknet’s full post-quantum transition is still underway. QRL scores 6/8 here, yet has lower exposure on the migration map. Upgrade flexibility and quantum exposure measure different things.
