Today's Gospel is Matthew 21. Another parable this week. Deep. God does not ask us to produce from an empty field. He gives us everything we need: vineyard, hedge, wine press, tower. Even, ultimately, his son. He asks us to make something from what has been given. Make.

If you haven’t read Sapiens by @harari_yuval - or event if you have - I highly recommend the graphic novel versions. Very compelling and sticks much more in my mind as I’m a visual learner. High end graphic novel content.

Imagine thinking algorithms have the “spark of humanity.” The Pope gets it.
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

Many consider this to be a specifically dangerous approach. Encourage all to read the articles linked in the thread in my next tweet. In particular the Suleyman, who says: “Don’t mistake a machine for a human”
Grateful that @elizabethjdias of @nytimes wrote this piece on how Anthropic thinks about their model, software consciousness, & the model's role vis-a-vis religion. If you are doing business with this company (customer/partner), evaluating it (press), or regulating it (government), it is important to know how "they" think about their models and what they are doing. It's very different from any software company that ever existed. Judge for yourself what you think about this approach, but be aware and informed. nytimes.com/2026/09/29/us/an…

No surprise that hyperscalers have been sucking the oxygen out of Treasury bonds as well. Most hyperscalers just recently started becoming FCF negative while US Treasury has been FCF negative (fiscal deficit) since the mid-1990s with no end in sight… Would you rather lend money for the long term to productive mega corps or unproductive government?
Our tracker of hyperscaler off balance sheet liabilities shows $3.8 trillion as of Sept 30, up $700BN from June 30. Adding $250BN in hyperscaler IG debt, the DV01 issued by the AI ecosystem in Q3 was about 25% higher than all Treasury issuance That's why yields keep rising
