Earlier this year, we partnered with @xprize and Range Media Partners to launch the Future Vision XPRIZE, a global competition for films that show a future where technology is both hopeful and helpful. Last week, independent filmmaker Jeff Synthesized was awarded the grand prize for The Gifted, a personal story about a 11-year-old boy who uses code to recreate his late mother’s voice and essence, reflecting the filmmaker’s belief that technology’s greatest promise lies in empathy and human connection.
Chosen from more than 2,500 entries worldwide, the winning project received feature production funding in addition to technical support through Google’s 100 ZEROS initiative to help bring this story to the big screen.
