This weekend code your own algorithmic trading app with Python, and 4 other FREE courses and books

Here are this week's five freeCodeCamp resources that are worth your time:

1. freeCodeCamp just published a course that'll teach you how to code your own algorithmic trading app using Python and Django. You'll build a momentum trader that ranks stocks based on their past performance, generates buy and sell signals, then automatically places orders through a brokerage account. (2 hour YouTube course): https://www.freecodecamp.org/news/python-algorithmic-trading-with-snaptrade-massive-alpaca/

2. We also published a new handbook to help you learn back-end web development with JavaScript. It'll teach you how to use Node.js and Express to code your own HTTP server. (full length handbook): https://www.freecodecamp.org/news/nodejs-and-expressjs-handbook-for-beginners/

3. Learn how to build your own Instagram-style mobile app using React Native, Expo, and TypeScript. This course walks you through planning your project, using Codex to help you build it, and prepping it for the iPhone and Android App Stores. You'll add photo uploads, likes, comments, 24-hour stories, real-time messaging, and even bug tracking. (3 hour YouTube course): https://www.freecodecamp.org/news/build-and-publish-a-full-stack-mobile-app-with-ai/

4. This new freeCodeCamp Kubernetes handbook will teach you how to catch infrastructure security problems automatically using Policy as Code. You'll write rules using Open Policy Agent and its Rego language, test them against Terraform plans, then block unsafe changes before deployment. (full length handbook): https://www.freecodecamp.org/news/how-to-govern-ai-generated-infrastructure-with-policy-as-code-and-opa-full-handbook/

5. Learn how the CSS content-visibility property can prevent browsers from wasting time rendering page elements that your users aren't looking at. You'll follow an experiment with 150 content-heavy cards and measure the difference using Chrome DevTools. (15 minute read): https://www.freecodecamp.org/news/css-content-visibility-rendering-performance/

We've got a lot of pots boiling in the freeCodeCamp kitchen. We're cooking a big feast for you for the final months of 2026. If you're learning a lot, help our charity do even more. Join the 9,013 kind folks who support our mission: https://www.freecodecamp.org/donate

Quote of the Week: “More data beats clever algorithms. But better data beats more data.” — Peter Norvig, computer scientist and machine learning pioneer. Keep this in mind if you're going to take our algorithmic trading course :)

Until next week, happy coding.
