i can confirm. shipped a lot of side projects nobody asked for.
Major green flags in a founder: 1/ relentless, doesn't know how to quit 2/ built something before asking for money 3/ always shipping, always learning something new 4/ can go deep on the tech 5/ zero interest in playing founder 6/ talks to users every single week 7/ tries weird marketing channels others ignore 8/ actually cares about the problem, not the title 9/ owns every failure, blames nothing 10/ has a graveyard of side projects 11/ ideas never stop coming 12/ knows every number without checking 13/ ignores hype, follows what's true 14/ tells a story that makes hires, investors and customers say yes 15/ explains the whole company in one sentence If you hit most of these, tell me what you're building 👇

a few takeaways: - talk to customers early and often, even if you’re still on a waitlist. - don’t tweak the product right before a scheduled demo. - don’t rush the process, slow down and prepare properly.

it’s not about YC. I’m not measuring it as success, you can still fail. customers and numbers are what matter. but being vc backed does have other advantages.
Replying to @ionleu
never understood the point of measuring success by getting into YC yes, it’s a great VC, but it doesn’t measure your success of any kind
