🏗️ Build your data room early, treat it as core infrastructure. Think "hit by the bus" plan: could someone else run the company from what's documented?
📊 Know what belongs inside: Delaware incorporation docs, cap table, full bank statements, monthly founder updates, pitch deck, org chart, and a roadmap that goes out 6-18 months.

🚩 Know your red flags before an investor finds them: personal expenses run through the company, founder loans with no promissory note, cash-based accounting, flat revenue for 6+ months.
📝 Practical fix: if you've been covering expenses on a personal card, document them in a spreadsheet now. Goodwin and Cooley both have templates to formalize it.
