Sept. 26, 1918. A convoy escort. A single torpedo.
Each year, we gather to remember the crew of the USCGC Tampa. On Sept. 25, Commandant Adm. Kevin Lunday presented a Purple Heart to the family of Fireman Robert L. Agee, lost with his shipmates in the Coast Guard's largest single combat loss of life.
We remember. We honor. We carry the watch forward.

Get ready for more eyes in the sky.
Six new HC-130J aircraft are coming to @USCG.
Flying higher, faster, and farther than legacy HC-130H aircraft, HC-130Js provide a platform for long-range surveillance for a variety of missions, from counter-drug operations to alien interdictions to search and rescue. They also give the Service an adaptable heavy lift capability.
Funded by up to $735M in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, these state-of-the-art aircraft continue the modernization of our aviation fleet. Underscoring the Coast Guard's return on America's historic $25B investment, we've awarded approximately $19B for advanced assets, capabilities, and infrastructure.

Elite capabilities. Coordinated enforcement. Unyielding resolve.
@USCG concluded the successful interdiction of the Motor Vessel (M/V) Grace, following a coordinated international enforcement effort confirming the vessel’s illicit trafficking of fuel to Cuba.
The coordinated actions of the Governments of the United States and Mexico prevented an unregulated fuel transfer in the Caribbean Sea, where deceptive shipping practices, unsafe vessel conditions, and concealed cargoes can increase the risk of oil spills and other pollution incidents that threaten coastal communities, fish stocks, and sensitive marine ecosystems.
