The ASPCA would welcome the opportunity to work with @SecRollins and @USDA to advance meaningful actions to increase animal protections. We also urge Congress to pass Goldie’s Act to improve animal welfare oversight and further empower the USDA to enforce the Animal Welfare Act.
@SecRollins, along with partners @HHSgov and @DOJgov, recently announced new federal actions to strengthen oversight and protection for companion animals including:
🦮 Updating standards of care
✉️ Breeder refresher notices
🛡️ Deploying welfare watchdogs
🤝 Boosting @OIGUSDA staffing
🚫 Cracking down on repeat offenders
