π¨ DON'T IGNORE THIS AFTER A WHEEL ALIGNMENT
Most people check the alignment report.
Almost nobody checks the steering wheel.
Your car can drive straight while the steering wheel is sitting slightly left or right.
That isn't something you should simply accept.
β
Steering wheel should be centred
β
Car should track straight
β
No noticeable pulling to either side
β
Tyres shouldn't show abnormal/uneven wear
If the wheel is off-centre, it can point to incorrect toe settings, steering not being centered properly, or an underlying suspension/steering issue.
Quick check:
Find a safe, reasonably flat road β drive straight β lightly hold the wheel.
If the car tracks straight but your steering wheel is noticeably crooked, get it checked.
π‘ Pro tip: Do this check immediately after an alignment. Don't wait until you've driven thousands of kilometres.
One of those tiny things that can tell you a lot about how your car was aligned.
