'Win for Minnesota': Mayor celebrates victory in battle for paper voter rolls and election integrity Weston Rolf, the mayor of Oak Grove, Minnesota, spoke with Liz Collin on her podcast about how the city recently won a "David versus Goliath" battle for election integrity in its fight to use paper voter rosters — instead of electronic ones — in the upcoming election in November. "I'm not looking for convenience as mayor, I'm looking to build trust and integrity in our election process. And if that means we have to do more work in order to do that, I'm fine doing that,” Rolf said. Other cities and counties have reached out to Rolf about how they can also switch to paper voter rosters. Alpha News contacted the Secretary of State's Office and a representative stated that there is no "deadline for when a municipality may choose to switch from electronic rosters to paper rosters" but also "encouraged counties to connect with municipalities as soon as possible."

WATCH: Minnesota loophole gives food stamps to people “who could afford to drive a Lamborghini” Matt Schmid, the public affairs director of Rural America and Security, Midwest at the America First Policy Institute, spoke with Liz Collin about the shocking amount of fraud involving SNAP benefits. Schmid discussed the remarks made by Minnesota Rep. Fue Lee about the "lifestyle choice" that people who receive SNAP benefits may make. Lee argued that it's "their choice if they want to be able to go out and buy a really nice Corvette ... those are really fast and cool." Schmid said that the "flip slide" of Lee's argument is that federal taxpayers are then required to "put food on the table of somebody who can afford a luxury car, who could afford to drive a Lamborghini."

Last month, the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Michigan, Mike Rogers, said the Iran War "needs to end to bring costs down." Additionally, Iowa’s GOP U.S. Senate nominee, Ashley Hinson, said the war needs to be "brought to a successful and immediate end." In Minnesota, Republican gubernatorial nominee Lisa Demuth spoke about the war at a press conference last week. She said the Iran War has resulted in "increased prices" and "it is time to put an end to that war. I really believe that." Michele Tafoya, the GOP nominee for U.S. Senate in Minnesota, appears to feel the same. Check out my story for more.
EXCLUSIVE: GOP Senate candidate Michele Tafoya calls for Iran War to end ‘quickly and strategically’ “No president, Republican or Democrat, has a blank check to wage war indefinitely without getting the consent of Congress and the support of the American people,” Tafoya told Alpha News in an exclusive statement. “Iran cannot be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon,” she added. “But we are seven months into this conflict and Americans are in pain from higher prices. President Trump needs to level with the country about our strategy and the path forward.” “This war needs to end quickly and strategically, with a resolution that prevents Iran from holding the world economy hostage whenever it chooses,” Tafoya concluded. Despite Minnesota's left-wing lean, recent polls have shown an incredibly close race between Tafoya and Peggy Flanagan.
