This weekend, Alpha and Founders School begin a series of 50+ Weekend events nationwide through the rest of 2026. Themes span the entrepreneurial stack: launching businesses and earning a first dollar, shipping apps to the App Store, creating video games people play, robotics and hard-tech intros, YouTube and other creator tracks. Pathways that turn building into something real. Founders School exists to help millions of students develop entrepreneurial spirit and the capability to create value through business while pursuing what makes them come alive. We’re starting with a few thousand over the next couple of months. First up: Founders Weekend in 10 cities, Saturday and Sunday. Can't wait to stop by Austin and Miami this weekend to hang with the coolest young founders.

My daughter (8) was chattering on her way to school this morning about all the things she was going to do differently at the next Founders Weekend to win. Very grateful to @CameronSorsby and the Founders School team for giving her so many reps as an entrepreneur. Also very grateful to @Alphaschool for instilling in her so deeply this feedback-try again loop.

We believe kids should love school. Loving school doesn’t mean making it easy. Kids actually love being challenged and doing hard things.

We believe in partnering with parents. That means equipping them with accurate, timely data about their child’s academic progress.

The Alpha dashboard was mind blowing during our daughter’s recent alpha summer week. Truly the best ed tech backend tracking system I have ever come across. Easy, intuitive and crystal clear for tracking progress. A+++++

They also offer a GT virtual school, which opened this fall. My kid is enrolled and loves it. We were in the spring pilot and that experience convinced us to switch from his old school. anywhere.gt.school/.

Huge fan, my kids have transformed
I’m an @AlphaSchoolATX parent. Earlier this year, my son was actually upset because a snow day meant he couldn’t go to school. I had to ask @jliemandt, "What have you done to him?" That question opened up a much bigger one. Austin’s experimental schools are pulling in families from across the country, and that talent gravity is reshaping the city’s innovation ecosystem faster than any corporate relocation. Joe built Trilogy and recruited 2,000 Ivy League kids to Austin in the ’90s. Now at Alpha, he sees this as the higher-leverage version of the same play. 30% of some campuses are families who moved here for schools that do not exist anywhere else. This one hits close to home for me. Both because I’m a parent inside the experiment and because it hints at something bigger happening in Austin. If you're building in edtech, there's no better place to be than @Alphaschool. We've worked with top learning scientists, piloted in real classrooms, and had unlimited access to the latest models. All of that culminates in the public launch of Scribble tomorrow. Wish us luck!

Parent of three kids at the nearby Santa Monica location here, also just opened. Our experience is strikingly similar to everything you describe and my kids are full of life at pickup, eager to describe their day and happy as ever.

First week of @Alphaschool South Bay LA is in the books for my three kids. I'm super impressed already, but I drank the Koolaid long ao. Here's a spattering of updates if you're interested. * Transparency - night and day between this summer. We were honestly scared the location search would die, but now that school is open, the comms from the school is almost overwhelming. And, through Timeback, I'm already tracking daily learning. * Earn everything - I've heard this multiple times from my kids this week. They are blown away by what they can earn, but realize they have to earn it. My middle daughter came home one day and immediately told me she wanted to make goals with her guide so she could earn a set of headphones that's available. * Field trips - The kids were informed they will go on 50-60 field trips this year, which 3-4 on domestic flights, and 1 Int'l. All, only if earned. The 1st field trip happened on day 4! * MAP testing only in mornings so far, so no screen learning yet. Setting a baseline. My son tested at 99% on Math 8th grade MAP test, while my 7th grade daughter tested at 3rd grade science and reading. Both don't really care...they know that all that matters is how well they improve from here. * The Playa Vista building is huge and decked out. Kids and guides are planning use of all sorts of empty rooms (they have to earn each) - 3d printer room, woodworking room, gaming room, movie room, garden, drone room, futsol field/team/room, maker space room, art room, science lab, etc. * "How was school?" All 3 kids are already responding "good, great, fun". Huge step up from last years' answers "boring, sucks, ugh". * Enrollment: 25 kids a week before school, now already at 28. (I believe we'll be at 60-100 by year end.) No complaints about the number of kids of friends or anything like that yet. * Carpools are amazing already. Interesting conversations among kids K-8. Partially just great kids, partially due to their excitement around school. 10x better than previous year carpools. * First workshop is learning to surf, 2x/wk. Learning independence, goals, tools, safety, grit, etc.

I’m an Alpha dad and my son is in this bootcamp. The “receiving critical feedback” exercise worried me at first, but that's not how it played out. He came to me with deeply personal questions about who he was becoming as a young man and how he could grow... questions he hadn't exactly asked me before. Sure, we should all have difficult conversations around the dinner table every single night. If you do, congrats. I don't always succeed. But this exercise? It led to a multiple hour long conversation between us where I answered critically but did so also with kindness and a focus on growth. Very little of what I said was shared with the school and even less was shared in the class. The heart monitor was probably meant to make the exercise feel like a game. While I can’t speak for every family, all I know is that this brought me closer to my son. For that, I am grateful.
In recent weeks, the high school students have been participating in the Alpha High School Boot Camp, designed to foster 18 different life skills as they start their school year. You can learn more about it here. alphahigh.school/bootcamp/

We created the Dean of Parents role to give parents a direct point of contact for support, questions, and feedback. Our Deans regularly reach out to parents to solicit feedback and make sure their voices are heard.

Of the 8 schools we have been a part of thus far, @Alphaschool is the only one that *requests* and implements my critical feedback.
