Rio Ngumoha on what progress he made last season:
“The old manager, Arne Slot, knew that I could stay here and really prove myself.
“After the Carabao Cup, I didn’t get a lot of game time because obviously I was young, I was learning and I think my body needed time to adapt physically.
“But when I was on the bench, I watched every game closely, learning and looking at who I could learn from, even opposition players as well.
“Then I got my big chance in January against Leeds. I came on and showed what I could do. I then started against Barnsley in the FA Cup, had a run of games and the proper big step was against Nottingham Forest.
“Ever since then, I’ve just tried to make a place in the team my own.” 🏴
