Speaking at Entebbe International Airport, our CFO Ira Kavithi reflected on how Jambojet had evolved since we first entered Uganda: “We return to Uganda not just as an airline resuming a route, but as a mature, market-tested low-cost carrier here to stay and grow with you.” Daily service marked the starting point for what comes next for Jambojet In Uganda.

A decade ago, @BuuPass was exploring an ambitious idea: a solar-powered bus equipped with Wi-Fi that could also serve as an internet café. It was an attempt to rethink how people could access transportation and connectivity through one innovative model. BuuPass was part of a generation of African startups that believed technology could solve some of the continent’s everyday problems. The vision was bold, but the journey quickly showed that having a great idea is only the beginning. The solar-powered bus struggled to become a viable business. A Hult Prize judge reportedly estimated that $1 million would only be enough to buy a small fleet, highlighting just how expensive it could be to turn the concept into a scalable operation.
