It's a hopeful work about our ability to create places today that are as good as have ever existed. Our best days are not behind us. All it takes is a little bit of Optimism to get started! Check out the link on Amazon below!! shorturl.at/2sOW0

One of the biggest issues in American housing is that it only takes a few people to ruin the livelihoods of thousands of families simply because they feel like it. We cannot allow our cities to fall apart because a few people don’t understand how maintenance & development works

New York’s public housing stock is falling apart. There’s no money for maintenance (only ~1/5 of rent pays operating expenses, putting it in a deeper hole every month). The only solution is to rebuild mixed-income, which will give thousands new homes! thecityreporter.nyc/2026/09/…

At a certain point, the public need of hundreds of thousands of people has to prevail over the defiant uninformed naïveté of a few dozen. Unfortunately, this dynamic pervades every inch of American society, making it impossible to fix our biggest problems. Democracy does not demand unanimity. In fact, when a tiny minority of voices can usurp the desires of the many, that’s tyranny. We have to treat these cases as such.

In a few decades, I think it will be regarded fondly by the community as a true landmark. It's so rare for communities to aim for ambitious designs like this today. They should be celebrated for it! Designed by Architexas, developed by the city of Grapevine & Coury Hospitality

Portland streamlined regulations and built a lot of housing. As economic conditions changed, market rents are often now as cheap as "Affordable" units, despite having far more amenities and being located in desirable neighborhoods. Building housing works, who knew!

This is a perfect encapsulation of why art and architecture have lost relevance to the broader public.

Yes, this is touristy. But that’s not anything to sneer at! It’s a market signal that many people like the brick roads, high boots, and charm of somewhere that could only ever be here. It’s only a few blocks, but Fort Worth is far more “Texan” than most of the metroplex combined

They're a massive driver for tourism and economic development, reduce urban heat island impacts, promote walkability, small business cultivation, and with enough instagram pictures maybe even fertility!!

Look how much of a difference these interventions make, proof a better world is only a matter of setting one's mind to do it! Of course, this is far easier to do on narrow buildings, furthering the importance of building fine-grained patterns
Didn’t realize Amsterdam’s experiencing a mini Art-Nouveau Renaissance. (If only they’d do this in Brussels).

It's quite an achievement to produce even uglier than the CGI but they have succeeded. In a highly competitive field, might this be Britain's ugliest new bridge?

There is no correlation at all between how much a school district spends and how well its students perform.
Notice the sleight of hand. Nationally this may be true, but in NYC the Fair Student Funding gives extra funding to schools with disadvantaged students. The school that Hannah Jones' daughter attends almost certainly is better funded than predominately white or Asian schools.

This is what a $3,000 monthly apartment looks like in Manhattan. The city has massively failed its people by not building enough housing, and has failed the country too by forced hundreds of thousands of people away who might otherwise want to live here.
