The hard part isn't the philosophy, it's the mechanism. Selective disclosure to a regulator without exposing full transaction history to everyone else is a different engineering problem than either pure privacy or pure transparency

privacy and compliance aren't opposites, the tech just isn't there yet for most chains

privacy and kyc can coexist but someone has to eat the compliance cost. usually the user

Compliance gets shipped because it has a deadline. Privacy has to earn its place in the product flow.

yeah this is the whole game tbh, privacy that plays nice with compliance is the only version that ships

hmmn! i'm really curious to see how privacy can coexist with kyc... will be cool because in most cases online, consumers have to surrender their details just because of some human verification

ZK handles eligibility proofs. The unsolved part is lawful unmasking, otherwise the compliance layer becomes a surveillance honeypot with a nicer UI.

Everyone agrees with this until the KYC flow shows up. Privacy wins by default when proving compliance is one tap and not one week.

Privacy + compliance is an amazing combination
