If anyone tells you they never said or did inappropriate things when they were teenagers, that person a liar. This whole situation is insanity, and also a product of a media landscape that determines newsworthy stories based on click appeal, not public need to know or good

It’s no real mystery why this keeps happening. Most of lineup goes into “let me try to hit a 7-run homer” mode when facing elimination. First 2 innings, Turner, Harper & Stott all got themselves out chasing. Kerr was sharp. He also quickly saw he didn’t need to throw real strikes
Phillies offense in their elimination game the last 5 postseasons: 2026 WC: 2 runs, 6-for-31 (.194) 2025 NLDS: 1 run, 4-for-37 (.108) 2024 NLDS: 1 run, 4-for 31 (.129) 2023 NLCS: 2 runs, 5-for-31 (.161) 2022 WS: 1 run, 3-for-29 (.103) TOTAL: 1.4 runs per game, 22-for-159 (.138)

1000%. Nola had a nice second half. He is not Zack Wheeler, the best SP in baseball since 2020 & a historic playoff performer. As soon as Phillies announced Nola, Braves probably felt their chances increase drastically. Again, not b/c Nola is the worst ever. He just isn’t Wheeler
Replying to @CoreySeidman
I think the momentum even shifted the moment Nola was penciled into the lineup sheet. I’m sure when the Braves saw they were getting him and not Wheeler, a collective sigh of relief happened

If you knew you had Wheeler for 50+ pitches tonight, not starting him made ZERO sense. Not hindsight. The entire town said this last night & today. Starting Nola gave the Braves significantly more hope. Falling down 3 immediately deflated the Phils & provided ATL instant momentum

Instead, you brought Wheeler in down 3. And you brought Duran in down 4. Go down with your best guys. Your only chance at an extended playoff run was following the 2019 Nationals model of only pitching your absolute best guys.

The Phillies have a laundry list of things they need to accomplish this offseason. This is clearly the end of this core. And there's no reason to believe Dave Dombrowski is the guy to help you do it.

That needs to be the end of this Phillies core. Creativity required. Trades required. Uncomfortable decisions required. Can't be replacing 1 guy in the lineup.

Shouldn't be leading off next season. Shouldn't be playing shortstop next season. But at least there are only 7 years left.
Trea Turner rightfully will get crushed for his performance. But it’s insane they kept him atop the order the entire season when he had that bad of an offensive season. (Not to mention leaving him at shortstop).

One of the most important plays of Game 2. Not an easy throw for J.T. Realmuto to make with Harris running in the same lane. Bang-bang play in a pressure spot that required a perfect throw.
Note where Realmuto’s right foot is on this difficult 3-2-3 DP. In the center of home plate.

I’d imagine Braves’ ideal scenario tonight is to use lefty Ray Kerr for 12 batters to get past Schwarber & Harper twice. Do you still start Marsh knowing he may only face a LHP once? Start BDLC and pinch-hit with Marsh 2nd time through, burning a player from a thin bench?

Kerr pitched 6⅓ scoreless innings against the Phillies in September, holding them to 2-for-20 without a walk. Flipside of that is the entire lineup has seen him recently.
Hearing Phillies will start Aaron Nola tonight vs. Braves opener Ray Kerr, a lefty. Always subject to change but that’s the plan as of this AM.

Every player wants to be able to quickly erase their own mistake but few do it as commonly as Bryce Harper. As soon as that play happened and you realized Schwarber, Harper were due up the next half-inning, it was hard not to feel like something special was gonna happen.
Moments after Bryce Harper dropped a routine foul ball to give the Braves the lead.. “He is the kind of guy who responds to his own blunders” 👀👀

Matt Olson told me he's expecting Zack Wheeler to start tomorrow. “It’s win and move on or lose and go home. You play the game the same way. You prepare, you get ready – pretty sure it’s going to be Wheeler, so you get ready for Wheeler, you go out and you play your ass off.”
