Roamer started in 2024 as a simple site for finding Rivians in inventory. I built it for myself.
A year ago, I launched Roamer Plus. I never expected it to become the place thousands of you check after every drive and every charge.
Plus launched with a handful of features, a collection of bugs, and someone running it who had never run a paid product before. 200 of you signed up in the first week anyway. You trusted me before I'd earned it, and I've spent every week since trying to live up to that.
So I did the only thing I knew how to do: listen, build, and write to you about it. In 50 of the last 52 weeks, I sent every Plus member an update. More than 190 features shipped, shaped by your emails, Discord messages, and midnight bug reports. Your feedback became the roadmap. If you've ever told me what you wanted, there's a piece of you in Roamer.
You've linked 10,000 Rivians and logged:
- 1.4 million drives
- 18 million miles
- 325,000 charging sessions
Somewhere in there is your commute, your road trip, and that one charger that never works. I get to be a small part of it.
Roamer is still a side project. Most of it gets built early in the morning, late at night, and on weekends, and I wouldn't trade any of those hours. I've wanted to build something people love using for as long as I can remember. You made that happen. You also made something possible I never expected: a real path to Roamer being my day job.
What's next: getting the iOS app out of beta and into the App Store, then Android. After that, a backlog that came mostly from you: AI assistant connectors, achievements, drive sharing, national park tracking, and a lot more leaderboards.
My goal for the next year is to keep earning the trust you gave me in week one.
To the founding members, the iOS beta testers, everyone who reported a bug or asked for a feature, and every Roamer Plus customer: thank you. You turned something I love building into something you enjoy using. That means more to me than I can say.
Here's to year two.
