I have a bad case of shiny object syndrome. So I’m publicly removing the option. For the next 6 months I’m building one product. No jumping to the next exciting idea, no rewriting the thesis every week. Goal: get a real paying customer. If I can’t do that in 6 months, I switch. This is post #1. Consider it a contract with myself.

I actually won 🏆📸 Had way too much fun building AGAIN. this week. Huge thanks to everyone who tried it and voted. And shoutout to all the builders, some seriously cool projects came out of this Yard. Thanks @HackyardSocial ❤️
Yard #3 is done. 🏆 After a week of building on one screen and a community vote with zero judges, your Hackyard champion is... @Devkoury, with AGAIN. 📸 Give it an old photograph and it rebuilds the place around it as a 3D world you can step inside. Congratulations! 👏 ▶️ Try it: step-in-memory.vercel.app

Some places only exist in our memories now. What if you could step inside them again? An old family home. A street that no longer exists. A place you only know from photographs. For @HackyardSocial Yard #3, I built AGAIN. Give it a photo, and it rebuilds the world around it so you can step through the frame and explore. Step inside a memory → step-in-memory.vercel.app/

Hackyard #3 starts today. @HackyardSocial Theme: One Screen. Everything your build does has to fit on a single view. Building Dream Team — pick 5 X builders, get a fighting-game character card for each one with role, stats, and team power level. One screen. No nav. Just your roster.

Building in public also means building my X account from scratch. I’ll probably grow much slower than the playbooks recommend. I could automate replies, write AI slop, pump out posts, and try to optimize every interaction for engagement. But I’d rather actually get to know the people behind the accounts. Already had some great conversations with @AfterimageDev, @romg_dev, @ColdMorningGrit, and @buildwcrispim . I’ve learned what they’re building, why they’re building it, and even found my way into @HackyardSocial. That’s the part of building in public I’m enjoying most. So, who are you? What are you building, and why? Drop it below. I genuinely want to check it out and get to know more builders here.

Started testing Fluxcrawl before even having a landing page. Sent a few cold emails through @explee, got a few high-intent leads. Enough early validation to keep building. So I shipped the first version of the landing page. Live social data through one stable API. Now working on the backend and aiming to get the first usable version out next week. Still early, but we're building 👇 fluxcrawl.dev

I’ve wasted a stupid amount of time doing work that felt productive because it was easier than doing the uncomfortable stuff. The annoying part is that none of it looks like procrastination while you’re doing it. I wrote about how to tell the difference.

Why Technical Founders Stay Busy but Avoid the Work That Matters

Technical founders have a strange advantage. We can stay busy for a very long time. There is always something to build, refactor, redesign, optimize, research, or automate. And because the work is

“If I put $50 into crypto in 2010 I’d have $1.4B today.” No. If you bought $50 of crypto in 2011 and watched it rise to $900 and did nothing Then watched $900 jump to $12,000 and still did nothing Then watched $12,000 collapse to $2,500 and did nothing Then watched $2,500 explode to $420,000 and still did nothing Then watched $420,000 sink to $60,000 and did nothing Then watched $60,000 climb to $7M and still did nothing Then watched $7M fall to $1.8M and did nothing Then watched $1.8M surge to $120M and still did nothing Then watched $120M drop to $30M and still did nothing Then watched $30M rocket to $1.4B and for some reason finally decided to do something… Then yes, $50 in 2010 would be worth $1.4B today.
