I try to also post at b sky social under same handle if preferred. I (re&)tweet random stuff usually related to OpenJDK, Java SE, Security and Open Source.

Not only heap reduction, but notable performance improvement as well. All with a simple drop in update without having to make any changes. Though my fav feature of the update is the PQC readiness!
What are some of your favorite features in Java 27? Mine's surely going to be compact object headers. Reduce the heap of your programs by 10-20% without changing application logic or code. :D

JEP 544 is now Candidate! A major milestone for Project Leyden and the C2 JIT compiler, it speeds startup and warmup by moving compilation into a training run while preserving C2’s dynamic optimization and peak performance 🙂 openjdk.org/jeps/544

While Java programs are deployed as bytecode, performance-relevant code will be compiled to machine code whose performance rivals that of any other platform. In the HotSpot JVM, this is the job of the JIT compilers. This episode of the Inside Java Podcast with Roberto Lozano dives into it. social.ora.cl/6011B1KPsV

"But java is so verbose, have you seen hello world in Java?" I boomer-coded a one-line java hello world in under 20 seconds without even using an IDE. Java is one of the best options, and probably the best option for enterprises.
