Soup season is almost here, folks.
I made some tomato bisque and grilled cheese for the fam and wanted to share my favorite tips:
1. Grilled cheese: In addition to your favorite cheese, put some cream cheese on the inside. Instead of butter on the outside, use mayo. It makes a really tasty, crispy crust.
2. For the bisque, include way more bell pepper than you think is needed before blending/processing. It adds a little chunky texture and wonderful taste.

I recently FOIA’d a shooting in Peoria that wasn’t very exciting at all but I ended up watching all 6 hours of bodycam footage anyways.
In this video:
-the crowd won’t let anyone near the guy who’s shot in the chest.
-the crowd fights the cops, who have med kits and are trying to rescue their friend.
-because of the violent crowd, fire and EMS are 6 minutes late (time is kind of important with a sucking chest wound).
-a cop loses a very important staccato magazine.
-after fire and ems arrive there are still several felony arrests for fighting cops.
I also forgot how fun it is to watch the police reaction in the aftermath of dealing with large crowds of stupid people.

He’s indoors now.
He’s probably doubled his body weight, mostly by stealing my fried chicken.
His best friend is now Beans.
I guess he’s not a stray anymore.

Just try not to shoot your buddy in the arm while on duty.
Happened in Pasadena last year. Officer’s shoulder has recovered since and “disciplinary action” has been taken.
