Today in New York City, DataSection CEO Norihiko Ishihara spoke at the Concordia Annual Summit on “The AI Infrastructure Race.”
A key message: the success of AI infrastructure should be measured not only by how much compute we build, but by how widely its benefits are shared.
That means democratising access to AI across education, healthcare, research, public services and business, while investing in local skills and ecosystems alongside data centres.
Through DataSection’s TAIZA strategy, the goal is to broaden access to advanced AI infrastructure beyond hyperscalers to enterprises, municipalities, universities, researchers and individuals.
Norihiko Ishihara also highlighted the need to move quickly without compromising sustainability — coordinating power, site selection and technology from the outset, while improving energy efficiency and supporting clean-energy investment.
The AI infrastructure race should ultimately be a race to create the greatest economic and social value from compute — securely, sustainably and at scale.
