God helps them to understand. We had a dog, lived to a good old age, who was diabetic and blind because of it by the time he was diagnosed. He had a buddy in the pack that watched over him. She's still with us as she was much younger. Those were two precious years watching her guide him and stay close to him. When he passed she mourned with us, but she eventually moved on as we all must do. So happy for your pups and their special bond. Thanks for sharing.
Dogs are incredible.
My dogs are incredible.
As many of you know, Casper is diabetic and while he has adjusted well and has his sugars regulated, every once in a while he can have issues.
Last night, he was having an issue but for whatever reason, he did not wake me up. Somehow, Trixie knew, and SHE woke me up. I hopped up and took him outside (he was sick to his stomach) and she was right there with me, watching him.
When he came back in she laid down outside of the bathroom where he likes to sleep, to keep an eye on him. She slept there the rest of the night.
He was much better this morning and back to his old self ... thank goodness. But we could have had a real problem overnight without Trixie.
Amazing. Lovely. Caring. Wonderful pup.
