Great to take this motion on women’s representation and safety in politics through Women’s and Annual Conference with LLRG - and to have JCWIL graduates @FrancescaLabour and @mahil_kiran move and second it.
Proud to work with Kiran Mahil and @LabourWomensNet in my role as Vice Chair of Labour in Local and Regional Government - we used our #Lab26 time to talk about safety for women in politics and representation. More work to do but glad to get unanimous support from conference!

Today, the Scottish Parliament backed Scottish Labour’s motion to recommit to legal targets on child poverty. Now, all parties should get round the table and agree the practical measures needed to meet those targets and lift children out of poverty.

Well done to Cassie and the whole @KingsOakSchool team for the important work they continue to do! It was lovely to meet Vineet Lal and see his mum’s legacy being honoured by a fantastic team in Greenock.
Congratulations to @KingsOakSchool teacher Cassie O'Neill who was presented with the Saroj Lal Award 2026 for a Pioneering Spirit in Equality and Diversity for inclusion and challenging injustice 👏tinyurl.com/yuenaxw6

Last night I said Au Revoir (but not Goodbye!) to The Anchor after two years as a trustee on the board of a charity close to my heart. It’s been an honour to play my small part in supporting Chris, Kay and the many other fabulous individuals involved in the work of the charity.

When Offord stood for election in Inverclyde,he couldn’t be bothered to turn up for the only local hustings held in our area (piped.video/watch?v=VFDGJv…) and was rarely spotted in the constituency. He wants to use Inverclyde to stir up trouble but people can see right through him.

Malcolm’s previous party was in Government for 14 years and he had no problem supporting policies that saw poverty increase across Inverclyde. Labour - both in the Council and in UK - are fixing his mess. No wonder Reform came a distant third in Inverclyde in May.
The Labour leader of Inverclyde Council thinks the answer to deprivation is more immigration. I think we need to encourage enterprise and create job opportunities for the people who already live here. My plan:

Thanks to all of you (and, of course, Dolly!), @ScotlandTonight saw my post and gave me the chance to chat about Dolly Parton’s wonderful work and legacy. Thanks to @stvewan and team for allowing me to speak alongside Billy Sloan about a woman with a huge talent and a big heart.

On #scotnight... 🔷 Household energy bills are going to hit a three-year high. What's driving the increase? @EAS_Scotland 🔷 Should there be widespread GPS monitoring of domestic abuse suspects? 🔷 We reflect on Dolly Parton's life and legacy with Billy Sloan & @FrancescaLabour 📺️ STV at 10:40pm 📱 player.stv.tv

I met Dolly Parton through her @dollyslibrary work. It was an amazing experience with an amazing woman of huge talent matched only by her generosity. Sad news today but a wonderful legacy left behind.

The @AccCommScot has praised Inverclyde Council for being an ‘impressive’ organisation that delivers high quality services for residents in its Best Value report published today. A series of recommendations have also been made. ➡️ tinyurl.com/tan89ju3
