A good problem to have.
GPT-6.1 Sol is our most demanded model pretty much ever both across both the API and subscriptions. Within ChatGPT & Codex, we were under heavy load, but have brough more capacity online and the speed should get much better in the coming hours, reaching almost twice the speed compared to what we served yesterday.

So how does this impact the $100 plan?
I’ll explain the new Pro 200 plan differently, before I start live tweeting from DevDay on things that are going out! Today we are going to ship a number of things that increase what you can do across the Plus and Pro plans. A lot of compute is online for this increase. As we increase the floor, we are changing the relative difference between plans to be Plus = 1X Pro 100 = 5X Pro 200 = 10X and we are reopening subscriptions for Pro 200 (we had paused it). If you have an existing plan you will keep the 20X multiplier for a bit and also receive a lot of additional credits because we know changes are hard even if it means that everyone will get more in the end.

I think Opus 5.5 is a good solid release.
Astra on $200 Codex plan lasts me 1 to 1.5 days per week. Opus 5.5 on $100 Claude plan lasts me 6-7 days per week. Average it out and Opus 5.5 gives about 5x more usage for half the price. so basically $100 Claude = $1000 Codex? wtf

David Sacks has really important points here. Sam and Dario need to simply do it. We don't see what they are seeing. So, if it's something like "Terminator" level threats, then it would only make sense for them to put a stop.
Dario has written that we need to “pace the frontier,” and Sam has agreed. People may be surprised by my response: go ahead. You guys are the frontier. By any reasonable metric — market share, revenue growth, model capability — the two of you have a duopoly on frontier intelligence. You’ve also claimed the lead is widening because of recursive self-improvement. I don’t see what you see in the lab. If the unreleased models are scary enough that you think you should slow down, I support your decision to be responsible. But stop pretending you need anyone else’s permission. Stop pretending antitrust law has to be suspended so you can form a cartel. Stop pretending you need a regulatory approval process that supersedes product liability. Stop pretending METR is independent when it is intertwined with Anthropic’s investors and staff. Stop pretending you need those same evaluators to police competitors who aren’t even at the frontier. Most of all, stop pretending the motivation to slow down is purely altruistic. You face massive product-liability exposure if your products enable a truly damaging cyberattack. The market already punishes models that behave in unpredictable or unauthorized ways. After the Hugging Face episode, it is simply good business for OpenAI and Anthropic to trade some raw power for reliability and predictability. Call it alignment if you want. It is also just giving customers what they want. Pacing the frontier would also create breathing room for a more intelligent conversation about regulation than Bernie Sanders’ “shut it all down.” China is very unlikely to join a global agreement, as you know, and that has to be taken into account as well. So go ahead and pace the frontier. You are the ones setting it. The easiest way not to build superintelligence is for you to agree not to build it. Demanding your preferred regulatory framework as the price of that will look like blackmail of the public and the political system. So just do it. If you do, you’ll buy goodwill for the next conversation. If you don’t, we’ll know this was just another bid for regulatory capture — or an election-season psyop.

You have to wonder what's the real reason behind this push to stop frontier level AI.

Here comes the rain again. Falling on my head like a memory, Falling on my head like a new emotion. I want to walk in the open wind, I want to talk like the lovers do, I want to dive into your ocean. Is it raining with you? Talk to me like lovers do, Walk with me like lovers do, Talk to me like lovers do.

What did I just see.
Ass Bench Update 🚨 After running GPT 6 Astra in a loop for the past week, with a couple of steers a day, we have officially reached high-fidelity cheeks. I’m going to let this thing run in a self-improving cycle for as long as I can and see where the ass technology ends up in a month. Lots of different butt styles will be added, so no one is safe. Not even you, Granny. You’ll also be able to support the project and help fund the benching of other models like Fable, Gemini, etc. All it takes is a buck, and you can slap your sticker + website directly onto a cheek. The future of AI benchmarking is here More Soon

As person who is day in an day out in AI, this warning needs to be taken seriously. Could this be an existential threat? Absolutely. We need to come together and ENSURE we are always in control of this tech. It starts with Open Source AI.
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

What is happening in relationships today is that women now make money. Sometimes more than men. So financially, she ends up in the driver’s seat. He knows if he can’t afford something and she handles it, she may remind him until the day he dies that she had to handle it. And she will resent him for it. So he pushes it to the back burner until he can actually afford it. But for a neurotic woman, an unfinished problem affects her entire environment. Now she can’t sleep, have sex, or function normally because she has a long list of things that need to get done. Things she could eliminate tomorrow if she just handled them herself. So she handles it. Not because she necessarily wants control. But because she wants peace of mind. Then she’s reminded that her husband didn’t handle it. And that he didn’t lead the situation. Or that he didn’t see the problem before her. But what she doesn’t realize is, he did notice it but it isn’t a priority He doesn’t operate on an emotional state He operates on what is best long term So he says no or tells her not now She does the whole, “I’m gonna do it on my own” Now resentment starts building on both sides. He resents being made to feel like he couldn’t provide. She resents feeling like she had to do it without him. And here we are in 2026… With women saying: “I don’t need a man.”

I had such a vivid dream. When you have these vivid almost surreal dreams, do you find out that they turn out to have some truth in it or is it just our insecurities playing out?
