Just like lower costs on Day One, $1.99 gas, and tariff rebate checks, Americans won’t see a dime.
If Republicans win the House of Representatives and the Senate in the 2026 Midterm Elections, I’m going to give all adult citizens in the United States of America, $5,000! Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to signing those checks!
Community note
This repeats a promise Trump made in September 2026. The US has approximately 250 million adult citizens so the total cost would be over 1.25 trillion dollars. Congress must approve any such federal spending. nytimes.com/2026/09/10/us/… pbs.org/newshour/polit…

We have a duty to take care of our police officers after their service. I am proud to sign legislation that fixes inequities in their pensions and that reflect our appreciation for their work keeping New Yorkers safe.

Washington tried to stop Gateway. New York kept fighting. Now tunnel construction is underway because we believe in getting big things done.

The allegations in the Cornell sexual assault case are deeply disturbing and gut-wrenching. Cornell University has failed this survivor. I fully support Governor Hochul's decision to name Attorney General James as special prosecutor in this case and look forward to the complete and extensive investigation that is to come.  Accountability and justice cannot simply be values, they must also be delivered.

Sukkot is a joyful holiday, and I was honored to celebrate that joy with our neighbors in Crown Heights this past week. As Jewish communities across New York celebrate Shmini Atzeret and Simchat Torah this week, I wish you you all a Chag Sameach!

Every parent who sends a child to college expects them to be safe. And if something terrible happens, they deserve to be heard, protected and supported. This young woman deserved that in 2024. She deserves it now.

Choosing to have a drink is not consent, and it’s never a license for sexual assault. New York law should reflect that. I support closing the voluntary intoxication loophole and will work with the Legislature to get it done.
Community note
There is no law in New York saying choosing to drink means consenting to sex. Current New York law says voluntary intoxication does not invalidate an individual's ability to give consent, as it does not meet the state's standard of "mentally incapacitated". nysenate.gov/legislation/la… nysenate.gov/legislation/la…

No institution gets to protect its reputation at the expense of a young person seeking justice. No public official gets to look away when the system fails. And as Governor, I will not let anyone sweep this case under the rug.

The Governor has entrusted my office with this investigation, and we do not take that responsibility lightly. As our state’s Chief Law Enforcement Officer, I stand ready to lead a process guided by the facts and the law.
Tonight, I signed an executive order appointing Attorney General Letitia James as special prosecutor in the Cornell sexual assault case. New information has raised serious questions about how this case was handled, and I’ve lost faith in the Tompkins County DA’s ability to fairly oversee it. The young woman at the center of this case deserves to know that every fact will be examined and justice pursued.

A $4 billion investment in public safety. $1 billion focused on preventing gun violence. The result? Shootings are down 19% this year and 67% since I took office. That’s not a coincidence. It’s what happens when you do the work. And today, we’re investing another $36 million because there’s always more work to do.
Shootings in New York state have plummeted 20% to the lowest level recorded after Gov. Hochul invested over $1 billion in gun violence prevention.

Trump’s tariffs make EVERYTHING more expensive. For the MTA, they’ve added $1 billion in costs and put generational transit improvements at risk. I’m demanding an exemption from these reckless tariffs. Read my letter to Secretary Lutnick:

I know how much high energy bills are stretching family budgets. On the ground in the Bronx today, I highlighted what we’re doing to help lower those costs, including a monthly discount on energy bills for millions of New Yorkers.

I want answers. And I want accountability. I spoke with Cornell’s president today, and the university has agreed to bring in outside counsel for an independent investigation. I’ve directed my team to look at what more we can do to strengthen protections for survivors. This culture has to stop. And in New York, we’re going to do everything we can to stop it.

No one should have to fear being punished for seeking or providing reproductive care. As anti-abortion extremists in other states try to reach across our borders and threaten patients and providers, New York will continue to fight back.
Louisiana AG Liz Murrill fires back at blue-state governors who refused to extradite doctors accused of shipping abortion pills into ban states — filing two lawsuits that take aim at both the providers and the shield laws protecting them. Murrill, joined by the attorneys general of Alabama and Arkansas, sued New York, California and Massachusetts at the Supreme Court, alleging their shield laws block cooperation with criminal investigations. A separate 100-page complaint targets more than 30 people and organizations accused of advertising, prescribing and shipping abortion drugs into states where distribution is prohibited. New York Gov. Hochul declared there was "no way in hell" she'd comply with Louisiana's extradition request. California Gov. Newsom told Murrill to "go f*** yourself." Murrill's response: "I said specifically at the time that we would be coming for them and we are." Full story here foxnews.com/politics/drug-de…
