To clarify .... this is Google btw and I still think they will win the consumer race. Apple could compete but I think they will just ride out the wave cause they can.

Only one company right now has distribution, trust and semi okay LLM capabilities right now.

dots.com/ probably about to make a life changing amount of $$$ and not from selling clothing

If not for building stuff, not sure I would really need any of the AI features currently being punted. For day to day tasks we mostly already have tools that get the job done, or we enjoy the friction.

The fact that @OpenAI named their personal agent dots, while dot.com is owned by @X and redirects to @bot might be the biggest branding fumble in history. I wonder how much traffic OpenAI will drive to Grok Bot.

Anyone else seeing a pattern between Anthropic and OpenAI? One has a "generational" fumble of a model release, PR, usage limits etc. While the other goes on a tear at the same time. Then they invert after each quarter and everyone switches provider. Coincidence? Distraction?

I love Codex and Claude. Paid both thousand by now. But boy OpenAI is delusional if they think what they are proposing beats Opus 5.5 and Claude's current offer. They seem to be accepting defeat and positioning themselves as permanent second tier.

half usage, no astra 6.1, and no answer to opus 5.5 or sonnet 5.5. this might be the most awkward devday so far

Everyone bashing $GOOG and Gemini. But I have found myself using their AI features in search more and more when I just want slightly more information and have additional questions.

For Google, they don't have to. Google can introduce micro actions that will slowly shape consumer habits at very little additional opex. This will possible constrict competitors running at much higher cost multiples.

And for the model purists, yes Gemini might not perform at the levels of Claude, GPT etc. but for the general consumer, this is probably more than enough already.

I saw this guy saying today how grateful his GF was that he installed Muse for her and connected her email...I wonder if in 3 months time his agent is going to tell him that based on her emails their agents need to have a talk.
