Low IQ “people” don’t notice when their dogs are barking, they don’t hear their babies screaming, they don’t realize how loud their speaker phone conversation sounds to everyone around them, they don’t hear the smoke alarm, or understand how loud their music is.
Conversely, the higher IQ individuals notice all of that, are slowly driven insane, and often wonder “why do we have to tolerate this?”
I have a theory that tolerance for a dripping tap is inversely correlated with IQ.
My high IQ friends report a low tolerance for repetitive noises, but my lower IQ friends barely notice them. More research needed.
