I do not understand why soccer players wear shin guards but no other armor. Basically every society prioritizes helmets first, chest armor second, shield third, and only adopts shin greaves if they're very very rich.

Look I do not think this is true, but if it is true we should obviously just ban AI. You cannot build a hyperscaler in your garage, the state could clearly stop this if they wanted to.
Lol, that stuff is small potatoes. I would take one hundred COVIDs if it meant we got an aligned AI. I suspect that even if we *do* align AI, many people will die. No, the only problem worth considering is the destruction of all value via extinction of the human race, which if you'd read enough about, you'd find is almost certain

Yeah OBBA cuts cost $4.5T over the 10 year budget window, $5K to every adult citizen would cost ~$1.5T so you'd get $3T in fiscal savings. Plus you'd get savings on debt servicing because deficit reduction pushes down interest rates

If Democrats wrote a reconciliation bill that repealed the OBBA tax cuts and sent every adult in the country $5000 it would score as massively deficit reducing

This repeats a promise Trump made in September 2026. The US has approximately 250 million adult citizens so the total cost would be over 1.25 trillion dollars. Congress must approve any such federal spending.
