After separation, you have a satellite in orbit and a deployment state that's quickly going stale. Telemetry isn't live yet, and gaining custody isn't a one-time step. Maintaining it means fresh tracking data, continuously, in the hours before your pipeline is online. 72 hrs until deployment data degrades. 14 days until public TLEs appear. That's the window operators have to navigate without losing the thread. Satcat gives you the tools to establish custody from the first pass and keep it through commissioning, including fallback options for the failure modes first missions run into most. A low probability of collision can mean two very different things: you are genuinely safe, or the data is too uncertain to say. The second case means you're in the dilution region. One or both object's uncertainty is so large that it mathematically suppresses the computed Pc, and a dangerous close approach appears as low risk. Using a simple Pc threshold can miss this dangerous effect. Satcat detects Pc dilution and reports Maximum Pc, a conservative upper bound that scales the covariance to estimate the worst-case risk. When you field thousands of CDMs a year, the dangerous events are often the ones that don't look dangerous. Don't let dilution decide for you. Visit satcat.com

There are no binding rules for who moves when two satellites have a predicted close approach. No treaty, no traffic laws. Coordination in orbit is voluntary. Roughly half of close approaches now involve two active satellites, not debris, which is exactly where coordination matters. And it matters most where automation is taking over: constellations that dodge autonomously still need a common way to signal who moves. Satcat speaks to those systems directly, including the Starlink coordination API. Rules nobody is forced to follow only work through cooperation. Satcat is where it already happens. 15k+ active satellites share the same road. Most are invisible to each other. A turn signal is two things: your position, and your intent. Satcat Operations handles both. O/O ephemerides tell other operators where you are. Satcat’s STC coordination APIs carry the intent layer: a context signal that says whether a maneuver is planned or the operator is standing down. Together they are the complete signal. Operators are broadcasting both today on Satcat. 60% of active satellite conjunction events processed through Satcat last week were fully coordinated, meaning position and intent were known on both sides, producing more accurate Pc estimates and fewer unnecessary maneuvers. Every operator that joins makes the environment safer for everyone. Add your signals at satcat.com.
