Day 83 of trying to reach $2k MRR or I die.
I haven’t posted on X in a while, so here’s what’s happened since my last update.
🇹🇭 I’m in Bangkok.
I came here on September 14th to train Muay Thai under Master Toddy.
I train 8–10 AM and 4–6 PM, every day except Saturday evening and Sunday.
On October 10th, I have my first fight
My diet is basically:
Rice.
Chicken.
Eggs.
Pork.
More rice.
A stupid amount of electrolytes.
Protein shakes.
Repeat.
Business-wise, things are a little different.
I finished my big freelance projects.
And right now, I have zero new projects.
Part of the reason is that I simply wasn’t able to communicate with clients properly while moving around and settling into Thailand.
So after paying everyone and everything, I’m running very low on cash.
Maybe 1–2 months of runway left.
Not exactly the most comfortable position.
But Veyns is moving.
🧬 The app is almost finished.
I got the EIN for Veyns.
Mercury account is set up.
Stripe is set up.
Hopefully Veyns will be on the App Store around mid-October.
If that happens, I’ll finally have something of my own that can start generating revenue.
⸻
And after Bangkok, I’ve been thinking about what I actually want to do.
I’ll go back to Delhi.
Pay off some debt.
Make a few thousand dollars.
And then…
Maybe Bangkok again.
Maybe Bali.
Train.
Eat.
Make content.
Build.
Work from wherever I am.
Is that the most productive way to work?
Probably not.
But I’ve started realizing something.
The people you meet can have a much higher ROI than the places you visit.
For example, I met a guy here from Sri Lanka.
He’s 36 and has been doing Muay Thai/kickboxing since he was 11.
He was in Bangkok doing his instructor training to become a Kru and has gyms back home in Sri Lanka.
We became really good friends.
He taught me a ridiculous amount about Muay Thai and invited me to Sri Lanka next year when he’s organizing training/fights.
Now I potentially have a good friend in Colombo who can show me around, introduce me to people and make the entire experience completely different.
That’s the kind of networking I mean.
Not going somewhere, staying in a hotel, taking pictures and leaving.
Actually living somewhere.
Training with people.
Eating with them.
Working around them.
Hearing their stories.
Building relationships.
Meeting people you would have never met back home.
That’s the real ROI of traveling for me.
⸻
To come to Thailand, I sold my bike.
I’ve spent almost all the money I had.
So externally?
You could probably say I’m back to zero.
But internally, I don’t feel like I’m back to zero at all.
I’ve learned a lot.
I’ve met incredible people.
I’ve become more confident.
I’ve learned Muay Thai.
I’ve learned how difficult it is to actually live like a nomad.
I’ve learned that I’m terrible at content.
I’ve learned that I need to get much better at communicating what I’m building.
And I’ve learned a lot about myself.
Maybe I lost some external things.
But I feel like I gained a lot more internally.
And that’s probably the biggest thing I’ve taken away from this trip.
I’ll be back in Delhi around October 13th.
October 10th — fight. 🥊
Mid-October — hopefully Veyns on the App Store. 🧬
October 13th — Delhi. 🇮🇳
Then we’ll see what’s next.
Day 83.
I’m back on X now.
Let’s build.
