I’m at Superior Court in Thurston county listening to arguments for and against SB5974 before the judge rules. A majority of the arguments are regarding “hate groups” affiliation. An example of a hate group, and this should scare every one of you, is if you belong to a house of worship that has a “traditional position” on genders. You heard that correctly. If you belong to a church who knows there are only two genders, you belong to a hate group.

We all know the government does that endless “public comment” nonsense just for show, and they don’t listen to a damn thing citizens say. centraloregondaily.com/news/… Take ODOT’s “Rebuilding our Transportation Vision Survey,” which got more than 8-thousand comments from citizens who took the time to answer it. And what did citizens tell the badly mismanaged Tina Kotek agency? Fix and maintain what you already have. I can 100 percent guarantee ODOT and Governor Kotek, who controls the agency, will ignore those results. So, what has ODOT prioritized instead? Huge projects that grow out of control. For example, Abernathy Bridge, which tripled its budget during construction The Rose Quarter I-5 project that went from half a billion to 3 billion. And the Bridge Boondoggle to top all other debacles…the Interstate bridge which went from 5 billion to more than 15 billion. What did ODOT threaten last summer to extort a 4 billion dollar tax hike? Maintenance…the very thing citizens put at the top of their list. Did ODOT threaten to trim back its mega projects? Perish the thought. And voters hit ODOT and Kotek upside the head with a metaphorical 2 by 6, rejecting the tax by 83 percent. And the Governor’s answer…propose billions in more taxes. I think Tina Kotek could be charitably described as a slow learner. Maybe voters need to send her a stronger message November 3rd.
