The easiest way to move forward is to ensure that your not just relying on your own strengths. Alone we are not strong enough.

On #InternationalWomensDay I’m grateful for the MANY women who have led the way, held me up, and stood beside me. Like these brilliant scientists. For over 17 years they have brought ideas, passion & care to @L_Porterlabrats every day 🧫🧬 Thank you! 💜 #WomenInScience

I’ll never forget the first time I met this amazing man. He respectfully challenged me regarding why I was only addressing my questions in female breast cancer. He was right. We adopted male models because of his advocacy❤️ Rest in peace Angus.
Today, the Breast Cancer Canada community carries a profound sadness. We are mourning the loss of Angus Pratt: a long-time male breast cancer advocate whose voice and commitment reshaped the narrative of male patient advocacy in Canada.  Angus did more than speak up. He opened doors, changed conversations, and ensured male breast cancer patients were seen, understood, and included. He brought honesty, clarity, and gentle humour to our discussions that were often difficult.  His legacy lives on in every advocate he encouraged, in every clinician and researcher he engaged, and in every person who felt recognized because Angus made space for their experience. Angus, your impact will continue to shape progress for years to come.  May we honour Angus not only in memory, but through action that reflects the same integrity and purpose he modelled every day.  Rest gently, Angus. We will continue the work you championed. 🩷 Read Angus’ story from 2023 here: breastcancer.ca/know_more_st… #BreastCancerCanada #ProgressThroughResearch #ResearchMatters

Science is not a contest to be won. It’s a collective pursuit of truth that evolves with evidence - not a debate settled by opinion or the loudest voice.

👇A good thread as a primer for tomorrows Trump admin announcement regarding autism!
1/n Trump admin set to tie Tylenol to autism risk, officials say…but my view: the published evidence is not very compelling with largest study finding no association, and a systematic review showing some studies linking it other not. This needs reframing washingtonpost.com/health/20…

Doug Ford is barking up the wrong tree with his ban on animal research. Nobody likes the idea of cute little puppies being killed. But populist pandering to emotion is anti-science rhetoric that serves no one. theglobeandmail.com/opinion/… via @globeandmail

In nearly 20 years as a community pediatrician, I never saw a single case of mitochondrial disease. They’re vanishingly rare, require specialized testing, and are diagnosed by subspecialists—not by @SecKennedy at the airport. By your own words: ‘Don’t take medical advice from me.
RFK JR: I’m looking at kids as I walk through the airports today...and I see these kids that are just overburdened with mitochondrial challenges, inflammation—you can tell from their faces, movements, and lack of social connection

Science and research matter. They are fundamental building blocks of Canada. We need a minister with research in their title. Research leads to innovation and economic growth. Time for Canada to lead and welcome researchers to build Canada.

The 80-year recipe stoking America’s Prosperity: 1) Free-market capital investments in brilliant ideas… 2) enabled by Engineering Innovations… 3) based on Science Research in Universities… 4) funded by Grants from the US Government. It’s time more people understood this.
