this has now become the best trade of our challenge so far, currently up $140k+
not because of how much money we've made, but because of the execution from start to finish.
we were able to take initials out, secure very good profit along the way, and still keep a large enough "moonbag" to capture where i believe it can go.
i wrote the post below when ethereum:0x4e67db19044549ff420860834c91b45bad298722 retraced back down to $6m. today, it sits at $24m.
one of the biggest reasons i've always written my trades out loud is because it forces me to understand my own conviction. when price is moving against you, can you clearly explain why you still own it? does rebuying actually make sense, or are you just reacting emotionally? sometimes we're right, sometimes we're wrong
in this case, the thesis kept getting stronger.
whoever is building out ethereum:0x4e67db19044549ff420860834c91b45bad298722 has continued to do an extraordinary job turning a fictional currency into something that actually feels real.
grateful to be in this position.
i made ~$100k from $4k on zc the other day
at first, i thought i just caught an insanely good trade. but after spending the last 24 hours digging deeper, i feel like i may have accidentally stumbled into a gold mine.
the lore starts with vitalik finishing Snowmoon, a 32 chapter sci-fi novel set in a country called Veridia, where the native currency is zipcoin.
but zipcoin isn't just mentioned as money. vitalik actually gives it mechanics.
payments are private. zero knowledge proofs are everywhere. sales tax is collected automatically. people can burn zipcoins to make messages economically meaningful, and at one point someone even talks about burning 100 zipcoins at another person's doorstep just to prove they're worth speaking to.
naturally, crypto did what crypto does.
what felt like 100 different versions launched almost immediately trying to capture the ticker and narrative. i kept scanning through them, but this one stood out because the team wasn't just copying the name. i think it's when i saw the website and saw that people were actually already burning to send messages i knew i want to buy 1%.
they were building the actual ideas from the book.
they've now built private zip/unzip transfers, burn-to-speak, ENS "doorstep" messages, the Veridian sales tax, and other mechanics directly inspired by Snowmoon.
that's what changed the trade for me.
the thesis is becoming less about "vitalik wrote about a coin" and more about what happens when fiction becomes an onchain blueprint. and it's only day 3.
crypto was originally built around ideas like privacy, self custody, permissionless money and freedom. zc feels like a return to those ideas, wrapped inside one of the most crypto-native pieces of lore possible.
to be clear, this is not vitalik's token and there is no affiliation or endorsement from him. it's also extremely new, parts of the system are unaudited, and there's still a lot the team has to prove, but from seeing their execution so far and what's happening onchain, it "feels" good.
accelerate privacy.
accelerate freedom.
