The Election Commission of India has decided to extend the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Meghalaya, with the revised schedule fixed as October 26, 2026.
The earlier deadline for publication of the final electoral roll was October 21.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Election Commission held on Wednesday in New Delhi.
The meeting was attended by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioners Dr S S Sandhu and Dr Vivek Joshi.
