Not the most obscure, but there are fossils of jewel beetles from Messel (Eocene Germany) that still shine 🪲✨
On this note, what's the most obscure paleontological find you guys know about that is extremely underrated? I'm saying the mastodon hair that was described as almost beaverlike

Sinosaurus, I modeled it for Showanna Studio. Once considered a species of Dilophosaurus, its fossils are so well-preserved that even the crests and skull are intact (unlike its famous American cousin, whose crest edges remain incomplete).

Yes, the name *Sinosaurus sinensis* literally means 'Chinese reptile from China,' due to its classification from *Dilophosaurus*. It doesn’t get much better with the type species, *S. triassicus* (which was later found to be jurassic). I love Sinosaurus for this reason too.

Bolca is a sort of Paleo-Eldorado of the Eocene, one of the earliest discovered fossil sites in the world, known for over 500 years! Here, I have reconstructed some of its species, with remains so complete that they preserve traces of color, internal organs and cartilage

I recently took part in an expedition in Morocco, together with the fantastic team led by @NizarIbrahimPhD , looking for new remains of the Spinosaurus. It was an incredible adventure, in a desert rich in fossils and with an indescribable night sky!

Our new study and reconstruction of Anancus,a bizarre proboscidean (it's a gomphotheriid, a group related to elephants but different) with almost straight tusks. We used 2 skeletons exhibited in the paleo-museums of Bologna and Florence, unique places that are always worth a visit

I'm happy and proud to see that the model I digitally sculpted is now become a life-sized skeleton exhibited in the @FieldMuseum in Chicago, a great honor 🤩Congratulations to all the team!
Replying to @tetaneuron
It would have never been possible without the amazing international team of exhibition, scientific committee, and the people building this stunning skeleton #prehistoricminds
