Chang Robotics is a Christ-centered engineering firm that designs, builds, and commissions Factory 5.0 automation for American manufacturing.

Jacksonville Beach, FL
I build factories that bring manufacturing back to America. 🇺🇸 I've commissioned about 30 factories. Not PowerPoints about factories. Not tweets about factories. Actual factories, standing next to the owner when we press the button to turn them on. Here's how we win:

You would think an Abishek would know this Some Options for immigration that are not H1B L1- international transfer (big company) E3 - Australian visa (lots of Changs immigranted to Australia (though not romanized (zhang, cheung, Chong, etc)) EB5 - investor in the US with bona fide job creation @MatthewChang
Your name ends with Chang, I am sure at some point someone was graceful enough to give your family the opportunity. This belief that is their a fixed number of jobs, and by banning everyone else you can make it better for locals is just sad is all.

The USA is now at cost parity with China! I break this down from the floor of the NYSE on Cheddar News. Great talk with Arnold Davick about the explosion of high end factories in the country, effects of tariffs, and automation as the base case. @ArnoldNYCTV @cheddar

It would seem that some new friends on 𝕏 want to play the company culture game. I listed the first 9 criteria below, they were top of mind because I think about them. Item 0 is H1-B’s, because we have none.

Dear recruiters: If you call me offering candidates, please tell me how many national merit scholars you have immediate access to. Thank you, Your neighborhood engineer
i've been ruminating on this problem of talent misallocation for 15 or so years. my first job company was going through a long acquisition and looking for the next gig i had a thought i still haven't been able to leave behind: "in high school, I was a national merit finalist. there were ~ 2000 others nationally, of the roughly 2m high school kids per year, we already know who the top 0.1% are by a mostly fair standard test. how come no one follows up with those people?" We have computers and websites like linkedin, these lists are not difficult at all to get and then to use the lightspeed communications device to find people. my raw horsepower is down from 2006 but not by more than 50%, so i bet we can pick up a ton of misspriced people with low effort who are about my age. and their experience will help offset the decline in cognition. all in it will probably cost $5 - 10k pp to find/develop guys that will be worth $1m+. Seems like a positive trade. $10m to find like 20 guys who would really be about it, and that's a 2% success rate (🤣). i have like a dozen of these $10m - $100m social impact businesses, they all pencil but below the WACC so they are type b businesses.

Hey @MatthewChang a good friend of mine owns a machine shop with his Dad in LA. They do a lot of aerospace parts. His competition is largely old timers. He wants to grow and maybe even buy/merge some of those shops. What's your recommendation for him?
America has 16,876 machine shops. 83% employ fewer than 20 people. Just nine employ more than 500. New defense companies are moving from prototypes to mass production, and every missile, drone, ship, and rocket they ultimately produce needs to run through one of these small shops. That friction is a national security liability. Connor Love and Collen Larson on the next generation of American manufacturing that gets built by smoothing it: a16z.news/p/the-case-for-the…

Hegseth is a freak athlete. He can sink 3’s after going heavy on the bench
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth drains 9 out of 10 three-point shots after a workout. Hegseth played basketball for Princeton University from 1999-2003. In high school, he set the school record for most career three-point shots. Impressive.

Follow Colin for more life changing advice and investment advice.
We need to get the shops with 10-19 employees in a position where they can produce 3x-5x their current output without requiring a corresponding increase in headcount. Many of these shops supply OEMs & make key parts/ components that go into bigger things/ equipment. Over the next 5-10 years, the bigger companies/ OEM’s will increase their domestic production output. That means they’ll need more of the parts/ components to assemble the finished goods. I expect ~80% of the shops with <10 employees will disappear over the next decade. Few are willing or able to make the drastic transformation that will be required to compete & succeed in a world with widespread production automation. The work from the 80% closing & the increased demand needs somewhere to go. Highly automated shops with 10-19 employees that employ technologies & systems built around the decades of human knowledge, will be able to ship 3x-5x what they do now. And they will do so without the administrative bloat, bureaucracy & analysis paralysis that companies with 100-150 people experience. We need to give the shops in the 10-19 employee range, this coalition of willing, driven, & obsessed manufacturers, more support. (Note, I’m specifically not talking about defense suppliers)
