ALT On National Coffee Day, a federal bankruptcy judge approved the $123.5 million sale of 63 Salad and Go restaurant leases to Brew Culture LLC. Brew Culture LLC is the direct parent company and operating entity behind drive-thru coffee chain 7Brew Drive Thru Coffee. The deal covers 36 Arizona locations, including 30 in Metro Phoenix and six in Tucson. The other locations are in Texas, Oklahoma, and Nevada.

ALT Downtown Goodyear continues to expand as GSQ (Goodyear Civic Square) adds six new shopping, dining and service businesses. Sephora, J.Crew Factory Outlet, Lovesac, Postino, Miel de Agave and V’s Barber Shop will join the mixed-use development near McDowell Road between 150th Drive and Bullard Avenue. Residents identified several of the new business tenants as top choices in a recent city survey. GSQ has also attracted Nordstrom Rack, CAVA, Fogo de Chão, California Fish Grill, Paris Baguette, Spinato’s Pizzeria and other businesses. Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, Magdalena and Flower Child plan to open before the end of the year. The growing tenant lineup strengthens GSQ’s role as a major shopping, dining and entertainment destination in the City of Goodyear.

Cyclic Materials opened its first commercial-scale rare earth magnet recycling facility in Mesa, strengthening the domestic supply of rare earth elements and critical minerals. The company invested more than $30 million in the 144,000-square-foot facility, which will initially create more than 25 jobs. The plant can process up to 25,000 metric tons of end-of-life products containing magnets each year. Cyclic Materials will recover rare earth magnet concentrate through its Mag-Xtract™ process, along with critical materials such as copper, aluminum and steel. Federal, state and local leaders joined company executives to celebrate the facility’s grand opening.
ALT Amkor Technology, Inc. plans to add a second phase to its advanced semiconductor packaging and testing campus in Peoria, increasing the project’s total planned investment to about $12 billion. The company announced the expansion after strong customer commitments exceeded the 355,000 square feet of cleanroom capacity planned for Phase 1. Phase 2 will add about 646,000 square feet of cleanroom space, bringing the campus to more than 1 million square feet when completed. The expansion will significantly increase Amkor’s Arizona manufacturing capacity as demand for advanced semiconductor packaging continues to grow.
In December 2023, Amkor unveiled its intent on developing a $2 billion facility in Peoria, with 2,000 jobs, built on approximately 55 acres of land.
ALT Joby Aviation demonstrated its autonomous aviation technology using a Cessna 208 Caravan equipped with the company’s systems. The demonstration took place at Deer Valley Airport in Phoenix. Local economic development, transportation, and community leaders watched the flight and learned how autonomous aircraft could support civilian and defense missions, including emergency services.
ALT Heritage Park, a new mixed-use destination taking shape in Downtown Gilbert’s Heritage District, has announced its first five tenants. The lineup includes Arizona’s first Popup Bagels, along with La La Land, Hudson House, Salt & Straw, and [solidcore]. Construction continues across the development, with the first businesses expected to open in the second quarter of 2027.
Popup Bagels will debut its first Arizona location in a 1,994-square-foot space. The concept started in Westport, Connecticut, before expanding into other markets. Known for its simple approach, Popup Bagels serves fresh bagels hot and whole from the oven. Customers can “grip, rip and dip” the bagels into a selection of spreads.

ALT The Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) is leading a semiconductor-focused delegation to Taiwan from Aug. 31 through Sept. 4, 2026, building on Arizona’s growing international partnerships. More than 100 representatives from government, economic development, education, industry and community organizations joined the delegation. The group will attend several major events focused on semiconductor cooperation, workforce development, technology, and investment. Activities include the American Institute in Taiwan Workforce Summit, SEMICON Network Summit, and an ACA-hosted Arizona Forum expected to attract nearly 200 attendees.
ALT Castle Hill Partners has started construction on the $10 million Basecamp amenity center at its Saddleback master-planned community in Peoria. The 16-acre destination is scheduled to open in summer 2027. Basecamp will combine indoor and outdoor gathering areas designed to complement the surrounding Sonoran Desert. Low-profile architecture, shaded retreats and desert landscaping will connect the development with its natural surroundings. A resort-style pool will anchor the outdoor recreation area, along with shaded lounges, courtyards and a splash pad.
ALT Grand Canyon University begins the 2026-27 academic year with record enrollment and plans to expand its programs in law and skilled trades. The Phoenix-based university expects to serve about 141,000 students this year. The continued growth strengthens its role as a major source of talent for Metro Phoenix and beyond.
GCU plans to establish a new College of Law centered on a Christian worldview. The curriculum would emphasize constitutional law and free-market principles. The proposed college must receive required regulatory approvals and accreditation, including from the American Bar Association. The process could take several years.
GCU also plans to expand workforce education through its College of Construction and Industrial Technologies (CCIT). The college will combine short-term credentials, apprenticeships and degree programs in areas such as manufacturing, electrical work, semiconductor technology, and construction. GCU is partnering with major employers, including TSMC.

ALT Pacific Hospitality Group (PHG) has opened reservations for Denū Hotel & Spa, its newest property in Downtown Phoenix. The 17-story hotel at 1 E. Adams Street will feature 236 guest rooms. Amenities include the Hammam-inspired Solstone Holistic Spa, wellness and fitness programs, a rooftop pool and flexible meeting and event spaces. Guests will also have access to a lobby-level restaurant and lounge, café and rooftop bar. The hotel sits near the Phoenix Convention Center, transportation hubs and downtown arts, sports and entertainment venues.

The facility will offer training in automotive technology, electrical and electronic systems, HVAC and welding.

Charter Communications operates Spectrum as its primary consumer-facing brand. The publicly traded company markets its residential and business internet, TV, mobile and voice services under the Spectrum name. Charter, under the Spectrum brand, is offering Cox internet customers who do not already subscribe to Cox Mobile one year of free mobile service. Beginning in mid-September, Spectrum plans to introduce its full lineup of products across former Cox markets. Existing and new customers will gain access to Spectrum’s simplified pricing, expanded services and additional savings opportunities.

This is a three-building industrial campus spanning 38 acres and nearly 700,000 square feet. Located near Interstate 10 at 117th Avenue and Corporate Drive, the Class A development will provide convenient access to Loops 101, 202 and 303.
