Just as exciting is that my role includes community engagement, so I'll still be connected to the Android community I love and hope to help people learn to ♥️ Android as much as I do.

🛠 We're launching the first beta for Android 17 QPR3 today!
Android 17 QPR3 Beta 1 is rolling out for the Pixel 6a and later.
If you're enrolled in the Android Beta program, check for an update to build DP11.260918.005 (Pixel 11 series) or DP11.260918.006 (all other devices). Help us test our Q1 2027 release!
P.S. Don't expect a ton of visible changes in this release. It's only the first beta for a minor quarterly release :)

Important note:
If you prefer to leave the Beta program and receive the public stable release of Android 17 QPR2, you can do so without wiping your device by opting out and NOT installing today’s QPR3 Beta 1 update.
If you opt-out of the program after installing Beta 1 or any future updates, all user data on the device will get wiped per usual program guidelines. Opting out will trigger a ‘Downgrade’ OTA. Ignore this update and wait for the Android 17 QPR2 public release instead.

ALT You can now control any media app on your phone from your dashboard. In the past, media apps that didn’t have a dedicated Android Auto app would still be able to play audio through your car, but their media controls and album art would be completely hidden on your car display. With our recent update, you can now see and control all your favorite media apps from your phone, complete with album art and playback buttons. This includes background audio from YouTube Premium, browser audio streams, and niche media apps.

My favorite thing about this integration is the creative things you can do with Magic Pointer using your phone's files.
Take a photo from your phone, open it on your Googlebook, and add other images/links/text to your prompt. I used this to quickly help me visualize what some new posters would look like on a wall in my apartment.
