1) Today I had the honor to testify before @HouseForeign on the Houthi threat to U.S. interests & #RedSea security.
The #Houthis are no longer just a #Yemen problem. They have both the intent and capability to threaten U.S. interests.

#Taiz, historic defender of #Yemen’s republic & rejection of Imamate! It has resisted years of #Houthi siege & snipers. Their terrorist attacks in Taiz seek revenge on its free people, but Taiz’s role in breaking the #Sana’a 70-day siege & liberating the country will be repeated.
As the #Houthis intensify their push to encircle Taiz, Taizis are mobilizing to defend their city. A coffee shop in Marib closed after its employees left to join the front lines back home in Taiz. #Yemen
#Yemen Update
1/Intense fighting continues in Taiz. The #Houthis are pushing hard to break government defenses & cut the Taiz–Aden road, sending repeated waves of fighters under intense covering fire, including missile & drone attacks. So far, they have failed to break through.
7/This comes as Reuters reports that Saudi Arabia &the Yemeni government are preparing for a counteroffensive against the Houthis.

8/The #Houthis are taking heavy losses but remain determined to take Taiz. Control of the city would help them secure their gains on the Red Sea coast and open the way further south. But they are already overextended, as government forces pick up the pace on several fronts.
It's official: the Houthis are now in deep trouble on multiple fronts, including Sanaa. And the real war hasn't even started yet.
I can't wait to see which countries expose their hypocrisy by suddenly pleading for a truce with this cowardly militia..
Tribal leaders and figures from Al-Bayda Governorate have called on their tribes to mobilize against the Houthis and prepare for what they describe as a battle for liberation, signalling growing tribal mobilization across the governorate.

From Taiz, harrowing testimonies of families forced to flee Houthi shelling with nothing. These attacks leave families facing fear, hunger and repeated displacement.
من تعز، شهادات موجعة لأسر أجبرها القصف الحوثي على الفرار بلا طعام ولا متاع. هجمات تدمّر البيوت وتترك الناس بين الخوف والجوع والنزوح المتكرر.
