I was pleased to join colleagues in education, business and government this week for the @OhioExcels Aim Hire Workforce and Education Conference, where we had a great dialogue about the critical role that higher education plays in sustaining Ohio’s workforce and economic development. We’re fortunate in Ohio to have strong leadership alignment around shared goals for student access, success and economic growth, and I’m grateful for our collaborative work. A historic new partnership starts today: @OhioState and @Google – two powerhouses of innovation, known for excellence and boldness – are coming together to accelerate research breakthroughs, drive AI fluency and elevate the student experience in one of the largest partnerships of its kind anywhere in the country. This partnership will create excellence at scale for the people we serve and, with a first-of-its-kind AI hub in our Innovation District that will soon be complemented by the Timashev Tech Tower, will put Ohio in the driver’s seat in building an innovation ecosystem for the future. I can’t wait to see our students, faculty and staff working side-by-side with Google partners to build solutions to our most complex challenges.
The Midwestern ethos of hard work, passion and resilience makes us an ideal destination for growth and discovery. We’re thrilled that Google is choosing to put down roots in Ohio, and can’t wait to do big, bold things together.

As Buckeyes, we always wear scarlet & gray. But today we’re adding lavender to the mix in celebration of the 18 million cancer survivors living in the United States – including many right here in Ohio. Cancer has touched almost all of us in some way, and I’m deeply proud that Ohio State, through @OSUWexMed and the extraordinary researchers, physicians, nurses and support staff at @OSUCCC_James, is leading the way in developing diagnostic tools and treatments that are giving patients and families new hope in the fight against this devastating disease. We’ll keep fighting until we achieve our vision of a cancer-free world.
