Europe’s space sovereignty will not be built by one country, one company or one system. It will depend on our ability to connect capabilities, collaborate across borders and turn ambition into action.
That was at the heart of the inaugural Vaduz Space Dialogue 2026, hosted by the Liechtenstein Ministry for Home Affairs, Economy and Sport in cooperation with Open Cosmos, with the support of the European Space Policy Institute (ESPI).
The Dialogue brought together leaders from governments, European institutions and industry to explore how independently owned and governed satellite systems can work together to strengthen Europe’s secure connectivity, resilience and competitiveness.
For Open Cosmos, this is also about what practical European cooperation can look like.
Liechtenstein is developing its national space strategy and positioning itself as a reliable partner in Europe’s space ecosystem, with ambitions spanning secure connectivity, space data, industry and the development of its own national capabilities.
Our partnership is one tangible example of that growing activity. By combining Liechtenstein’s strategic spectrum assets with Open Cosmos’ European manufacturing and satellite capabilities, we have an opportunity to help build infrastructure that can complement and connect with national, commercial and European systems, while allowing countries to retain control of their own assets and priorities.
As our founder and CEO Rafel Jordá Siquier said in Vaduz:
“Federation gives us a practical way to connect sovereign and commercial assets while allowing nations to retain control of their own capabilities and priorities.”
The Vaduz Space Dialogue is intended to be the start of continued cooperation and we are incredibly proud to be part of it.
We are excited about what comes next for Liechtenstein and for a more sovereign, secure and resilient European space ecosystem. And we look forward to being a part of that journey.
