I used to stream full time but now I'm full time sick.

I'm going to try to change your perspective on COVID in under 2 minutes and I'm going to use this tweet as a springboard.
I see a ton about long covid from legitimate, scientific sources that if it was even remotely true would have apocalyptic implications, everyone’s heart, lungs, and brain failing at once, and I can’t square it with the world I actually observe every day.

I think it's weird how fixated a lot of you are on people who are covid conscious..

what a great reminder that sometimes people are staring at me in a mask because I'm doing something they want to do too. Breaking the illusion of "normal" is powerful, some have bad reactions, but try not to assume that staring is always malice bc it's not.
elderly lady in my music analysis course who gave me and my mask prolonged looks during the first lesson showed up wearing a surgical in the second. wondered if she was just sick but she still had one in the third lesson. might approach her next time to offer her better masks.

I tried getting a video uploaded today but I ran out of juice while editing. I'll post it tomorrow and it's about the CC/OCD comparison. I might post two videos because I already started jotting notes for another one.

Do Covid infections weaken the immune system making you more vulnerable to other infections? Even covid infections that seem mild and don't kill you during the acute stage? Here's deaths caused by 'other viral diseases' as a share of all deaths here:

If you ever notice me repeating points across videos, it's not because I've run out of ideas. It's because I think we need to keep repeating the basics until the average person understands them. Repetition. Repetition. Repetition.

I think it's pretty incredible that I can post a video like this and not get any pushback. Antivaxxers shy away from my content and Vax&Relaxers can't engage with anything that challenges their illusion of safety.
Someone is lying to you about COVID and you can either believe sick people or the government.

Conversations end whenever I mention that, "the risk of PASC remained substantial even among vaccinated persons who had SARS-CoV-2 infection in the omicron era." Which is funny because a lot of them start out by calling people who mask, the other side of the antivax coin.

It's not that the vaccine doesn't work, it's a layer of protection but it shouldn't be the only one because the risk is still substantial. nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NE…

For those asking if this shocking new COVID testing guidance from N. Ireland can possibly be real… …yes, I’m afraid it is real. SYMPTOMATIC healthcare staff caring for IMMUNOCOMPROMISED patients are no longer recommended to test. Here’s the link ⬇️ publichealth.hscni.net/covid…
🚨N. Ireland have updated their COVID testing guidance (effective from 6 Aug): “Lateral flow testing for COVID is no longer recommended for SYMPTOMATIC healthcare staff working in clinical areas caring for PROFOUNDLY IMMUNOCOMPROMISED PATIENTS” Have no doubt, this will kill ☠️

CONCLUSIONS The cumulative incidence of PASC during the first year after SARS-CoV-2 infection decreased over the course of the pandemic, but the risk of PASC remained substantial even among vaccinated persons who had SARS-CoV-2 infection in the omicron era. (alt text)

I do feel bad for the covid-conscious people. Every major health authority said for years “there’s a massive pandemic that’s killing/disabling millions; do not leave the house,” then pretty quickly flipped to “eh nevermind lol.” Reasonable to go a bit insane processing that

My good friend is looking for COVID safe shared living in Toronto and I'm really hoping that she can find it. If you are interested or know others who might be, please get in contact with her.

This is from the CDC and I'd guess that it's based off of this review that looked at infectious viral load and symptom onset.
I feel like this isn’t true. I’m happy to be proven wrong with peer-reviewed studies* & not just vague “estimates” but in my personal experience & also hearing from other cc folks experience over the years, people are most contagious AFTER symptoms start.

many of you have gotten addicted to loudly and proudly advertising the uselessness of your ‘organizing.’ you should be ashamed and remove yourself from twitter and anything resembling leadership to go sit in your room and think about what you’ve done
Replying to @SamSacks
Also, disability activists aren’t unreasonable. But unreasonable people have existed forever, in all forms, all tendencies. They’ve been overcome or integrated. If you let a so-called “wokescold” derail your campaign or push you out of organizing, I think that’s a skill issue.

A few hundred comments get turned into a story and amplified to millions of people, but millions of people have had their health affected by COVID and no one wants to talk about that. One of these things is worth writing about and it's not the story in the Boston Globe.
