I'm speaking at a @CriteoEng conference dedicated to women in tech today. One junior engineer asked me for career advice: after 2 years in frontend she's considering moving to product management because she does not feel technically good enough. Why that? 🧵1/3
Her colleagues give her abrupt code reviews: instead of mentoring her, they openly tell her her code is 💩. She thought that it was a normal and acceptable work behaviour. 2/3
This makes me so sad, as senior+ we should never ever accept such behaviours: this shows how bad code review interactions impact juniors in tech, especially women and under represented folks that might think they don't belong. 3/3

Datadog is hiring, come work with me! 🫡
