So Cal
One of the great joys of living in Korea was Korean baseball. Cheap beer, cheap food like ramen, and fun crowds. Good times. RIP SK Wyverns.

Canada is giving "land back" to the natives in order to escape from the stultifying mass of regulations Canada itself created. When the natives get the land, they can just do things, such as build high rises in high demand metro areas.
Replying to @FraserInstitute
This is the WEF plan to own nothing and be happy in BC. Pension-fund communism, crony legislation, and figurehead neo-nobility FN leaders as gatekeepers, blocking private equity from competing with public service pension funds and their asset managers interests.

Don’t let anyone tell you your skills aren’t transferable.
Japan is such an insanely cool country, because you'll be looking at TSE stocks and you'll see this somehow 20th century ass company, that for example makes vending machines, and now their stock is up like 500 %+ on the year because Japan is building up a fuck ton of compute, and their vending machine tech somehow translates insanely well to data center cooling. So many plays like this in Japan at the moment, like how Toto, the fucking toilet manufacturer is somehow also an AI chip company somehow. I'll do more posts around examples like this as well, because its such a dominant theme on the TSE right now at the moment. Just a fascinating country. Long live Japan.

Isn’t that just most Americans going anywhere abroad?
Chinamaxxers are tourists who visit Chinese malls on their American salaries, write gushingly about how amazing everything in China is, and then fly back to their suburban American McMansions

These old travel posters make world travel look so romantic. Yet it's likely more comfortable and easier to travel the world today compared to then.

I love these old depictions of GIs returning home after being stationed in Japan with changed behaviors. Going abroad has a very real effect!

I believe we should enable a path for solid triple wythe brick buildings with an energy code carveout. Legalize them again. Mass-wall is not the most energy efficient, but it’s incredibly durable, termite proof, fire resistant, mold/mildew resistant, and can withstand long periods of neglect and be brought back to life. It’s a simple and durable construction method, vs our current complex and vulnerable construction method (stick frame). And can easily compensate for lower energy performance with geo thermal hvac and solar panels. The pros outweigh the cons in so many ways.
It's amazing that after decades of neglect and abuse ... these rowhomes are STILL standing. Unbelievable craftsmanship, quality & materials. Just imagine almost any modern construction community. It would fall apart after being unoccupied for 6 months. Tops

California is so wealthy, it exports rich people who settle in cities in other states, who end up driving up real estate values so much that the locals in other states complain about them. Most nations export poor people. California exports rich people. It's a different world
I don’t understand California. How does this work? Who is buying these homes and what do you have to do to have a basic standard of living?

Live life like you are doing Quests. Yes.
Noticing that old people tend to explore their environment like they’re playing some real life version of Skyrim. Just wandering into random buildings and opening a dialogue tree. “What sort of business is this?”

Meanwhile here's the progress for just 2 miles here...
China opens four new high-speed rail lines in the same day today. The world's largest HSR network keeps growing bigger. 1. Xiongan <-> Shangqiu: 552 km 2. Yichang <-> Xingshan: 101 km 3. Xi'an <-> Ankang: 171 km 4. Harbin <-> Yichun: 318 km
