A few years ago, I said greedy egg producers like Cal-Maine were using their market power to deliberately drive up egg prices. My right-wing critics fried me for saying this — but now they all have egg on their face.

Tim Snyder is correct: If Democrats want to regain working people, they must disavow Big Money and tackle our corrupt system. There’s no way the party can speak for or represent the working class in America if it's beholden to corporate interests.

The subjugation of women is part of a neo-fascist, warrior culture going all the way back to the 1930s. It was on full display during Pete Hegseth’s military speech this week.

Americans are relearning the lesson we learned during the Gilded Age of the late 1890s, when robber barons ran the government and the economy for their own benefit: Oligarchy is incompatible with the common good. I'm hopeful we'll respond with a new progressive movement.

The financial pain is real: Wage growth fell to 3% (y/y) in September. That's the lowest in 5 years. Wage growth: 3% Inflation: ~3.4% Inflation has eaten up all wage gains for the average worker since April. Many people are having to make hard choices about what to buy and what to skimp on right now. Yes, consumption is still strong (mainly due to wealthier Americans and people dipping into savings or credit cards), but a lot of people have to think hard about every dollar they spend. Notable: Wages only ticked up 0.1% in the month of September. That was the weakest monthly gain since December 2025.

This photo says everything about the explosion of extreme wealth and its influence on society. Such a concentration of wealth and power in a few hands is unprecedented and dangerous. 🧵

Samuel Alito has recused himself from a Supreme Court climate case, after ethics watchdogs uncovered his fossil fuel stockholdings. Instead of relying on the justices to occasionally do the right thing, we need Congress to enact real SCOTUS reform.
