Doctors really need to stop being surprised when chronically ill patients know a lot about their own condition. We deal with it every day. We’re going to spend hours researching it and trying to figure out how to manage it.

In the Thunderbirds, everyone on the team had to execute with precision on every flight. If we made mistakes, we talked about them honestly during debriefs, knowing it was important for mission safety & success. We built trust on a foundation of accountability. 🧵(2/3)

🚨 The Kay Hagan Tick Reauthorization Act is now law. Signed yesterday, it funds @CDCgov regional tick centers, state health grants, and the @HHSGov tick strategy through 2030, plus Lyme vaccine trials in Maine. It’s named for Sen. Kay Hagan, who sadly died of Powassan virus.
