Donald Trump’s illegal Iran war is costing Americans hundreds of billions of dollars in fuel prices and grocery costs. Americans are sick of Trump’s high costs, chaos, and cruelty. Joined @sarasidnerCNN to discuss the real leadership people are desperately craving.

More than 7,000 Rhode Islanders are diagnosed with cancer each year.   That’s why we need to keep pushing toward earlier detection, better treatment & a cure.   Shared how I’m fighting to protect research, support patients, and help caregivers at the @ACSCANRI #ResearchBreakfast.

💧#OTD in 1926, Providence opened New England’s largest water purification plant. A century later, Providence Water continues to deliver clean, safe, affordable drinking water to 600,000 RI’ers every day. Proud to celebrate this investment serving our community 100 years later.

Everyone deserves safe drinking water. That’s why @SenJackReed, @SenWhitehouse & I secured $1,000,000 for Tiverton to install an emergency waterline and address PFAS contamination.  I’ll keep working with partners across the government to restore clean water & protect residents.

Trump’s reckless war of choice with Iran is driving up the price of diesel.  RI’s public transit now faces millions in unexpected fuel costs to keep buses running. We need to stop the price hikes of Trump’s chaos and end the war.
RIPTA budgeted $5.2 million for diesel in FY27, based on $2.48/gallon. The national average is now $6.43. The agency spent nearly $1.07 million on diesel in July and August as prices soar amid the U.S.-Iran war. Read more about fuel here: rhodeislandcurrent.com/2026/…

Trump is spending $1,800,000,000 on a ballroom & his vanity projects.   Instead, that money could pay for: 🍎607,000,000 school lunches 💡12,000,000 electric bills for a month 🩺88,000 Veterans medical expenses this year 🥪429,500 Americans’ SNAP benefits for a year   Priorities.

Quality, affordable child care is good for kids, families, and the economy, but it’s out of reach for too many Rhode Islanders. We need to pass the Child Care for Working Families Act to expand access to early learning opportunities so parents can get to work, businesses can hire & children can thrive.

AI is advancing rapidly, and its impacts won’t stop at our borders. After President Xi’s visit, we need diplomacy, not pageantry, to set guardrails & keep people safe. Alongside 28 of my @HouseForeign colleagues, we’re calling for real dialogue with China to address AI safety.
AI governance needs American leadership now more than ever. The U.S. must set the rules of the road through diplomacy, including with China. @RepGregoryMeeks led 29 House Democrats in a letter outlining how that dialogue with China should work: democrats-foreignaffairs.hou…

Grateful to the Rhode Islanders who joined this year’s Alzheimer’s Association Coffee with Congress and shared their stories. I’ll take their voices back to Washington as I fight to protect medical research, make care more affordable, and move us closer to a cure.
