This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re raising awareness about the importance of early detection and screening. As a physician, I know how important it is to catch breast cancer as early as possible. That’s why I led the EARLY Act, legislation that expands breast cancer education, awareness, and screening access for young women across America. I’ll keep fighting to make early detection more accessible to every woman.

Attended the installation of David Cook as the seventeenth president of Iowa State University. Congratulations to President Cook, and I wish him the very best in this new role!

Met with Raj Agnihotri, Dean of the Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University, to learn more about the college’s programs and achievements in entrepreneurship. With around 5,000 business students, the college is doing important work connecting students with businesses and creating opportunities to gain real-world experience.

Attended the Van Buren County Veterans Breakfast today and had the opportunity to visit with local veterans, hear their stories, and thank them for their service to our country.🇺🇸

The House passed the Stop Insider Trading Act to ban stock trading by members of Congress. ❌ Senate Democrats blocked it. The House passed the Ratepayer Protection Act 417-3 to ensure Data Centers pay their own way and don’t drive up your electricity bills. ❌ Senate Democrats blocked it. Democrats love to talk about tackling corruption and affordability. But when it came time to do something about either, they stood in the way. Iowans deserve better than this.

Toured the ImpactLife facility in Davenport to see their new technological advances that are helping increase efficiency and improve the shelf life of lifesaving blood products. We discussed developments in pre-hospital transfusions, challenges facing donor recruitment, and the importance of ImpactLife’s services to our communities.

Met with the team at the Melody of Hope Advocacy Center in Davenport, a nonprofit providing prevention, assessment, treatment, and referral services for abused, maltreated, and traumatized children and their families. We discussed their work to support families, providing a continuum of care that goes beyond a one-time visit and immediate trauma, and the importance of funding these critical services.

Visited Maquoketa Municipal Electric Utility, a community-owned utility serving more than 3,500 customers in Maquoketa. We discussed grid security, reliability and affordability, and the importance of a strong national energy strategy. We also discussed their support for my Rural and Municipal Utility Cybersecurity Act, which helps smaller utilities strengthen cybersecurity and protect critical energy infrastructure.

No more shipping our jobs overseas to foreign adversaries like Communist China. We are building in America. We are hiring American. 🇺🇸
