Houdini teacher and rambles about movies

Tittfield 🤣

One of the cool things about modifying the Beauty Pass is that you can get the COPs effects to work in the Houdini Vulkan viewport in realtime.

The fact that he has 10 mistresses’ and is still alive is very impressive. 😄 Ten Women In Black (1961) - New Trailer [Radiance #190] piped.video/d2_MiK4R86I?si=OurF…

Do you have a tutorial or a plugin in a marketplace that you can be compensated for? This looks like a lot of fun to mess around with.

I’ll record a tutorial in a couple of days. It’s pretty simple

Wow I'm recognizing houdini's gizmos, how did you do that? Looks amazing

No, it's entirely done thru COPs😄

Wow, this is really impressive. Did you code your own path tracer?

いいなと思う表現を作って、ストックしていこうかなと思ってる これはHoudiniのCOPでデータモッシュみたいなやつ

適当な動画を用意して、Opusに作ってもらったデータモッシュのようなエフェクトを加えるノードを使っています。

Would it be possible to record a little breakdown, I would love to see how you did this.

Test render. Its very stable. I still need to figure out the faceting issue but the brush strokes are very stable. Maybe I can animate the seed value of the brush strokes so you can get some controlled jitter

Thanks for this again. Your example seems to be doing some magic with the edges as well, I presume it is some sort of screen space mask driven smear (warp)? Looks good! Thanks again. Please ignore me if you are making tweet about it anyway ;)

That was a happy accident. I'm distorting the shadow AOV. When you composite those it causes a slight smear around the objects. It looks good 😄

I solved the faceting issue. You need to change the normal map from object space to world space.

Thank youuuuuu! I am pretty sure I get what it is all about, flattening normal witch a brush stroke, right? Will watch this (if I haven't already), thanks for the link. Your example looks great.

Import geometry into COPs, extract the normal map using a Rasterise Geometry node. Then you can either paint on it or distort it using a noise map or a brush strokes texture. Then apply it to you shader. I'm making a new tweet to explain how to solve the faceting issue.

Looks great Rohan! Any chance for a tutorial/description? Not so long ago I was considering attempting making something like that in realtime (most likely Unreal). Never did but was trying to come up with ideas, braking up edges in believable way seems most cahllenging.

piped.video/watch?v=s8N00rji… That tutorial will explain exactly what I'm doing. If you have access to Substance Painter the process becomes easier because it has a brush strokes tool.
